Need manual I have no manual for my Samsung Prostar nor do I know what the model # is it looks like 816 and 824. How do I find that out so I can try to get a manual?

It's not called a Prostar in the UK but is known as the Samsung DCS 816. The follow clip will show you how to add to the system speed dial directory. But you can find 60+ handy clips at www.AbbeyTelecom.com

This problem is either a fault on your ISDN line or a fault on your card in the Prostar system so you need to find a Samsung telecoms Eingineer. for other problems we have 60+ videos on youtube searching 'abbeytel' ( I posted a sample for you to look at) or visit http://www.abbeytelecom.com

By default, the password is 1234.
If you need to reset the default data:
Remove the front cover from the ksu. There is a memory on/off shunt switch toward the bottom right side of the pcb. (looks like a small wire hooked under another). Open that switch. If you need to use something to do this with make sure that it is non conductive.
Remove power briefly, return power to the system and the default data will replace all other data. Close the shunt switch and go about your programming. NOTE: you will loose all custom programming by doing this and unless you know the features you need and what they are called I would recommend you not reset the cabinet.

Sorry I've been out of town and I'm just catching up. I looked at the info I sent to you and eventhough it is under the heading of Compact I think it is for a Prostar. The info is under the DCS heading and is called " DCS Technical Manual August 1995" Pages 186, 187, 197 and 200. I have not given up and I'm looking through my other reference materials but you are right, there are a lot of user and programming guides but no installation guides. I'll keep trying, so do not give up. "Talk" to you soon ....Mitelmike

If you have a programming manual you can change the settings on your own. If not, you will need to contact the installer or a local interconnect company that services Samsung. It seems as though the memory switch inside the ksu is turned off. If that's the case, it needs to be turned on and if not, you either have problem with the ksu or the power outage was a brownout. Sometimes a very short loss of power can cause corruptions in memory, however I seriously doubt it in this case. Your system is acting as though it's memory has been set to default.

Same phone system we have here. I have a Users Guide in .pdf how can I get it to you?

The Prostar 816 phone system can only use Prostar 816 phones. There is a rare larger Prostar system that can use other Prostar phones along with the 816 but typically was only installed in situations where more than 16 phones were needed. If you are looking at non-prostar phones like the Samsung DCS 12 then they certainly will not work.
