Vertical lines in lcd - iMac Apple Computers & Internet

I hate to give you bad news but I believe this will be a panel issue and it's not going to be fixable. You can try a different tcon board but I don't think it will help

the LCD is not work well
you can do follow these:
1,reconnect the LCD cable (It is connected to the motherboard and LCD screen)
2,if the vertical line is still there,it means that the LCD is bad ,you need a new LCD

Take out battery from laptop and disconnect power cable. Keep the power button pressed for 30 seconds and then plug the power cable. This will remove static charge from laptop and should resolve the display issue,

If the lines are parmanent, Then suspected part is LCD Panel.

Restart the Computer and access the BIOS and check if the vertical lines are visible. If the vertical lines are visible in the BIOS then the issue is with the LCD screen itself and may require service. This is confirmed when an external monitor works fine. If the issue is related to the video card of the Computer then the lines should also appear on the external monitor which is not the case.

normally the 19" resolution can support up to 1280*1024, but if it comes with vertical lines in full screen, it might indicate the panel is no longer to work and probably it's time to replace new one.

Be sure that the LCD display drivers are up to date, if so, reboot system, if you see the vertical line on your display during the boot up process you have a hardware failure.

possible failures include:

LCD panel going bad
Inverter board going bad
Broken trace on the LCD connection ribbon from the graphics card to the LCD
Wrong type / speed / size of memory (i had this happen to me)
Graphics card begining to go bad.

Loose connections may also cause this, make sure the LCD's connection ribbon / wires are firmly connected.
