Is the an electric blower or gas?. if gas, you can be experiencing blockage in the fuel line or water in the fuel tank. if electric, this may be a wiring problem. you could also have restricted air flow due to an dirty air filter as well.

i would change the air filter and do a point check. then, the fuel filter and pump as well.

I have not seen one that is worth taking to the shop to repair. It sounds like a fuel and or air problem if you are getting spark (assuming the coil is good).
For fuel, the filter/lines could be cracked or clogged. The carb could be gummed up.
Worse would be if you had an air leak.
Check that your air filter is not clogged.

I have a brand new yard broom 2 (homelite) and it fires but won't start as though the timing is off. Could this be the issue? It hits now and then but will not run.

there is no timing on a single cylinder engine. it could be old gas, try spraying new gas into air intake until it runs on it's own

My home lite yard broom blower has a vibration at hi rpm

I'm not sure if I have an answer, but I had one that had a broken impeller on the pick-up fan. You can check this by removing the shroud in front of the pick-up fan on the bottom of the blower and check that all of the impeller's are the same size.

Leafblower shuts off

Yes. Your gas cap is clogged.Try this: The next time you run the blower, and it starts to die, loosen the gas cap. It should start to run again, then you know that it is the gas cap.
