Ignore if you are aware;
This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
After you click on the file name above, it may take up to 30 seconds before the first page comes up.

Click on Display assembly components.
The main thing that I want you to see is the Display Bezel.
The plastic frame in front of the LCD screen is the Display Bezel.
The Display Bezel has 8 Philips head screws, which go through the front of it, and hold it to the Display Enclosure.
The 8 screws have Screw Covers.
The Screw Covers are made of synthetic rubber, or plastic. They are held on by a type of rubber cement.
I use a computer pick, and pry them off, prying up at their base.
The flat bottom area that meets the Display Bezel.
If you are careful you may be able to reuse them. I LIGHTLY stick them to the Display Bezel for safekeeping.
(Yes. They like to stick to the computer pick, your fingers, and it seems passing airplanes)
There are 4 across the Top, and 4 across the Bottom.
The two in the Middle/Bottom are larger in size than the other 6.
The Display Bezel has TABS, going around the inside edges of it's perimeter.
These snap into LATCHES in the Display Enclosure.
The Display Bezel is flexed to remove it.
It is made of a space-age plastic, and is pretty tough, but can be broken.
Use your fingertips, and suggest start at the Middle/Right side.
Come to the INSIDE edge of the Display Bezel. Gently lift up on the inside edge until you can get a fingertip underneath.
Can't get under? Move over. You are at a Tab/Latch.
Now slip a fingertip from the other hand under the Display Bezel, about halfway between the Middle, and Top; of the Right side.
The Tab/Latches should start releasing.
Move towards the Top, then across the Top, and down the Left side.
By the time you get all 3 sides popped loose, the Bottom may just pop loose also.
(I have has some where I had to 'fight' it all the way. Had to pop every one of the Tabs/Latches loose)
The screen Inverter is a small circuit board, located behind the Display Bezel, and mounted at the bottom of the LCD screen.
Carefully release the screen Inverter from it's mounting.
Carefully disconnect the Video Cable's small separate cable, from the Left side of the screen Inverter.
Disconnect the Backlight cable, from the Right side of the screen Inverter.
Lay the screen Inverter aside.

The Hinges are attached to Brackets.
One Hinge/Bracket for the Left side, one Hinge/Bracket for the Right side; of the LCD screen.
The LCD screen is composed of layers. These layers are aligned by the factory, and kept in alignment by the Screen Frame.
The metal frame that resembles a picture frame, and goes around the layers of the LCD screen.
The Screen Frame comes apart. This is to access the Backlight.
A CCFL bulb.

Only remove the 4 Philips head screws, that hold each Hinge/Bracket to the side of the Screen Frame, and not the Philips head screws which take the Screen Frame apart.
Screws removed that hold the Brackets to the Screen Frame, tilt the Top of the LCD screen towards you a little.
The Video Cable connector on the LCD screen side, is squeezed in on both sides. This releases it from the connector on the LCD screen.

The large plug connector shown on the Right side, connects to the back of the LCD screen.
The smaller plug connector at the Bottom connects to the Motherboard.
The smallest plug connector at the Top connects to the screen Inverter.

This pictorial LCD screen replacement guide, is for a Compaq Presario F700 series of Notebook PC.
It directly crosses over for the Compaq Presario C700 series also,
http://www.insidemylaptop.com/remove-lcd-screen-inverter-hinges-from-compaq-presario-f700-laptop/
From the author,
"If you want to replace the LCD screen or inverter board, it's not
necessary to remove the whole display panel as it shown on the picture
above. You can do that while the display panel is still attached to the
laptop base."
Now if I may I would like to ask;
Is the LCD screen broken, and this is why you are replacing it?
If not what makes you think the problem is the LCD screen itself?
If you have used an external VGA monitor, and found the display was good on the external monitor; it means the graphics chipset is OK.
Problem is the Video Cable, or screen Inverter, or LCD screen.
There is a diagnostic flowchart to follow, and see which one is the problem.
Would bite, to find out all you had was a loose Video Cable connection, and you purchased an LCD screen.
(Or bad Video Cable, or bad screen Inverter, and you purchased an LCD screen)
