SOURCE: Full Waste Toner Bottle in Lanier LD040
Hello sir; I believed you talking about LD045, am I right? In this model it doesn't have waste toner bottle, the only place you can clean is imaging transfer unit, after you cleanup the message will be disappear.

I am not familiar with this model but usually Canon waste bottle has:
1. Check if the waste toner botlle has some clear portion near the neck, (as in IRC3200) or other part of the bottle ,even the waste toner was removed but if this portion is still clouded by toner the sensor will still detect the waste is full
2. If the situation is not like this some Canon Ir machine needs to reset waste toner counter in the service program mode even the waste toner bottle was emptied

on the cf2001 the waste bottle is located on the left side door but to empty is going to be difficult and messy, there is an auger that you after turn while you angle the opening of the bottle toward a garbage container to empty it, the bottle is really a rectangular container with a notch in the top middle portion that needs to be clear of toner because a optical sensor sees through it, or else it will still give you the message empty waste bottle, it is easier to have an extra empty waste bottle to replace it.... hope this helps

What kind of copier is it? On many of the Lanier color copiers, the waste toner bottle is located on the lower left side inside the front door.
Turn the copier off first. Pull the big front door open and turn the bottle with the oil to the left -- the waste toner bottle is the plastic gray tank behind that. Slide it out (carefully) and dump it in a plastic trash bag, then reinsert it.
If you have a different kind of copier, please specify the model and I'll tell you how to get to the waste toner bottle.

Here's what I did.
Emptied the waste toner cartridge. Left it out of the machine. Held the microswitch (located to the right of the optical sensors) in the "cartridge in" position with a paperclip. Printed one document. Inserted the waste toner cartridge. Error now gone!
