The adapter's Syscon detects a short circuit. It might be within the adapter itself; or with your system. Contact the authorized service centre in this case. If you have an other adapter, load it with. By this way, you can get an idea about the faulty unit. Electro help

It sounds like you need a new power cord. The power cord may be giving just enough juice to charge the battery, but not enough to charge WHILE running. You can pick up a universal power supply from Radio Shack to diagnose if this is the issue. If it is, you can either keep the universal supply or return it and pick up a power supply from e-bay or toshiba.com. Just put in your model number with the toshiba link and look for "accessories", then find the power supplies.

The amp protection circuit has been activated. Remove the power cord from the wall outlet immediately. Disconnect all speaker cables and input sources, and leave the AV receiver with its power cord disconnected for 1 hour. After that, reconnect the power cord and reconnect an input and a pair of speaker wires onto the unit. If the receiver still does not turn on than you will have to bring it in for service. Turn up the volume and if the receiver doesn't shut down, power off the receiver and add another pair of speakers. Power up the unit again and turn up the volume. change the batterry immediately...it will surely damage ur laptop

you can try this: unplug from power, remove battery, press power button for about 30 to 60 seconds, connect back to power leave battery out, turn power back on. see if that works.

Let me ask you this, when you turn the power on: do you see or hear the hard drive spinning?

Turn power off and unplug power from computer.
Unplug printers,backup drives and speakers.
Open case and unplug power supply from the board.
plug power cord back in press the power button.
Of course nothing will happen.
unplug power cord again.
plug power supply back into the board.
plug power cord backup and press power switch.
If nothing happens unplug power cord again.
pull out your memory sticks and plug cord back in and press power button.
Of course not much will happen.
But really something is happening to your computer so continue.
Pull power cord and replace memory sticks.
replace power cord and press power switch.
Continue this pulling out pci cards one at a time until you find out what the problem might be.
Try different keyboards and mice too.

Unplug the laptop (if plugged in). Take out the battery, and hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds, plug in the power cord and see if you can power the unit on at that point in time (without the battery in). If it powers on then insert the battery. If this does not work then contact HP to find your closest authorized HP service provider (assuming you have a warranty on the product still).
