Getting ''Fill Water'' message even though Tank is full

I keep getting the ''Fill Tank with Water'' error message even though I've refilled the tank. And waited several minutes before turning on the machine. I've even tried unplugging the machine before turning it on again.

Gently remove tank the slide it back in place make sure the back of tank makes good contact with the machine when it is being lowered so that the reed switch can read the magnet in the tank.

How do we get past a message to remove/ refill the water tank?

ChoccyBar,

THANK YOU. You're answer was so helpful. I have the XP7230 and all of the sudden had exact same problem, machine wouldn't not register a full tank. After reading this I checked the floating piece and saw that it was not floating with a full tank like it is supposed to. Had to obstruct it to keep it afloat as well, and voila, it worked.

Ahh... what a relief to have my machine working again. Coffee has never tasted so good.

My Saeco Incanto Deluxe keeps giving a message "Fill Water tank" even though the water tank is full. Does not allow me to choose any other options. Please Help.

Your machine has a magnet that floats in the water tank. If the magnet is not floating when you have water in the tank then you need to replace the magnet. You can also try to clean the magnet before replacing. It may be dirty and tends to stick to the water tank.

This is what it looks like. http://www.cerinicoffee.com/item.asp?PID=1318

Canon MP520 Scanner / printer

This is down to a hardware error in the tank itself. Only remedy is to replace the ink tank and not use refilled or copy tanks.

Fill Watertank Message

The black thing floating in the water tank is a plastic shell with a magnet inside. If you clean it...make sure you reinstall it with the tapered (smaller) side down. There is a slight size difference BUT it will make ALL the difference in the world.

I had no idea there was a magnet in that black/greyish case. The direction of the casing is important.
I had the same problem and that solved it!
