BB PEARL 8110 SHUTS OFF

Hi! I recently got the BB Pearl 8110 and I have been very happy with it until the follwoing issue has started: Every so often (at least once a week), I will check my fon and it will be off / dead. I try to turn it on, although I had not turned it off, to no avail. Temporary solution is to remove the battery and put it back it, before turning the fon on again. After I turn it on, it takes around 5 minutes (blank white screen with hourglass) to reboot. I also get a bar showing "checking security software" before it finaly turns on. Any help available?

Thanks a million

    hi maingame123,

this is a personal cell and I do not use the email capability. So you would recommend to download the software again? best from the cd or from BB website?

    Thanks again for your help!

Is this a personal phone or a company phone used w/ work emails ?

if its for work you have to call company tech support or you will lose email capability

It sounds like you need to update/reinstall the device's software

BEFORE ANYTHING !!!! use the desktop software to backup your data on the BB (if you can) and save the file to the desktop. next go to https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=577BCC914F9E55D5E4E4F82F9F00E7D4you need to download (use pull down menu)blackberry desktop software 4.6 and the blackberry pearl 8110 smartphone. install the desktop software first then the device software.. this can take maybe an hour (not including the download time)

My Blackberry refuses to Start Up

There is an issue with your firmware. You will need to do is:
1. Unplug BB from PC.
2. Launch the "Application Loader" like you were going to install something.
3. While the app loader is attempting to connect to the BB, plug the USB cable into the BB.

I have a bb 8320 and when i plug it into the wall it charges but when i plug it into my laptop nothing happens why is that?

If your regular charger is working in the wall, it sounds like the USB cord that you are using with your computer isn't a "charging" USB. I don't think you are having a malfunction with your BB.

My blackberry 8100 can't open

If you are having problems with your Blackberry Pearl 8100, 8110, 8120 or 8130, you might want to wipe all of the data off of it and start fresh. You may want to try resetting the device first by removing the battery from the unit for about 5 seconds and reinserting it. If that doesn’t help things, proceed with these steps to erase all data on the device.
You may want to backup your data before trying these steps.
1. On the Home screen, select Options.
2. Select Security Options.
3. Click General Settings.
4. Press the Menu key.
5. Click Wipe Handheld.
6. Click Continue.
7. Type blackberry.
All the data on your BlackBerry Pearl will then be deleted.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

My BB pearl is haunted...

i had a similar problem before and it turned out on of the side buttons had jammed so it was doing all sorts of mad stuff. to fix this is just pulled the side panel off cleaned out any dirt/dust and made sure the button was pushing in and coming back out without obstruction. this sorted out my "possessed" blackbeery issue. hope it helps
