The bamboo flooring is most popular now and also a good alternative to traditional hardwood flooring. As bamboo belongs to grass family, the main benefit of bamboo is its ability to regenerate so quickly.
For eco-friendly flooring bamboo is the great choice. There are some other advantages too.
Bamboo is easily available in offline stores and also in online stores.

It is true that hardwood flooring gives the natural feel and elegant look, also expensive. The bamboo flooring has its unique beauty.

Unique beauty: The natural striations in the bamboo give the floors a unique beauty that is attractive in any room. Bamboo floors will look as attractive in 15 years as they do the day you install them.

Bamboo is flexible. Despite the consequences of your existing room's furnishing and d?cor, you are bound to find a shade of bamboo that compliments it beautifully. There are such a huge selection of bamboo planks, you can install it in your complete house and have different looks.

Durability of bamboo is also high. You can install Bamboo flooring in high traffic areas of your home. Strand woven bamboo has a Janka hardness rating almost 3 times harder than oak - now that's durable! Bamboo floors are so strong and durable with 25 year warranty (approximately).

Bamboo is inexpensive. If you compare to traditional hardwood floors, you will get bamboo at very reasonable price. So it is a great choice for low budget home d?cor.

Bamboo installation is very easy. By using the floating floor method, most homeowners would be able to install floors in a room of their home over a weekend.

Bamboo is Moisture Resistant. The main advantage of bamboo flooring over solid wood is the moisture resistant, which makes bamboo a superior flooring choice for kitchens and powder rooms. If you choose hardwood flooring for kitchen or in moist area, you can do hardwood floor refinishing with polyurethane coating to make it moist resistant.

Bamboo flooring is also resistant to allergen and bugs. Fiber-based bamboo floors are not only easier to clean but are resistant to bug invasions and do not catch allergens like hardwood floors do.

The main advantages of bamboo flooring are its durability, and the fact that it is sourced from a renewable resource. Moreover, bamboo flooring is much more resistant to expansions than solid wood and is also insect resistant.

Does the bamboo flooring installation process differ from laminate flooring installations?

Bamboo flooring comes in three styles, solid, engineered, and click lock. The click lock and engineered are virtually designed just like laminate flooring, the only difference is the installation. Engineered has to be either nailed, stapled or glued down (depending on the subfloor, whether it is concrete or wood). The click lock is a floating floor and is installed the exact same as laminate flooring. Whether its on wood, or concrete it doesn't get nailed or glued at all.

Do I need to let my bamboo floor acclimate before I install it?

Absolutely, just like hardwood and laminated floors you need to acclimate the floor before you install it although bamboo floor is much more resistant to expansions and acclimate better to temperature and humidity changes.

Bamboo floor doesn't have many disadvantages although there are some manufacturers that use high-formaldehyde glues to bind the flooring together which is not advised. You should only purchase flooring that complies with E1 Safety Standards.

I rented a bostitch MIIIFN to install bamboo hardwood flooring. The nailer is splitting the tongue of the wood. Is there some type of adjustment that I can do to stop the splitting?

you do not use nails to install bamboo floor! EVER!

bamboo flooring is installed on glue alone, and then some weight is put on the top to keep it down while glue is binding. this usually takes about 12 to 24h, depending on climate, temperature and humidity.

if these are standard board, they are 6' long and between 4" and 6" wide, depending on manufacturer. all ends indexed (tongue and grove) and pre-finished.

bamboo is a grass, but because of glue used in it's construction (formaldehyde) it makes it very hard, even harder than ironbark, in jenkins scale, bamboo floorboards are between 13 and 15 (pine is about 4.5, oak about 10 in this same scale)

bamboo expand as well with humidity, and you need to leave 10mm free space along the walls to allow for that expansion. this space is normally convered by skirting. skirting is usually about 19mm thick, therefore gap between 10mm and 15mm is ok.

if running board is longer than 13m, you need to leave expansion joint on it as well.

if you are installing directly on the concrete, do not forget about moisture barrier, if this is on already existing wood floor or cork, moisture barrier is not necessary, but you need to remove old paint from subfloor (sand it to "bare" wood) to allow better glue adhesion.

if you are installing bamboo over the bearers, then use some sort of subfloor and glue bamboo on the top of it. you cannot just stick bamboo to the bearers, bamboo is too thin (15mm) for that

NEVER NAIL BAMBOO FLOOR!

you use glue and sparringly pin-nails on bamboo skirtboard (even pin-nail tend to explode them...).

i hope that this short explanation will help you, it will be better actually if you ask some professional floor shop in your area how to do that...

if you are happy with my advice, please do not hesitate to leave your comments or vote (or both...) for me, thanx!
