check if noting broke in the door locking mechanic. Or check if not too much ice is pressing the door open.
But if you don't hear the click, check the lock.
I've got one of these that I'm working on myself right now, and all the carb linkage from air vane to springs was gone. I had no info. on this TC-2 engine myself. I found a couple of free service manuals from Tecumseh by Googleing Tecumseh TC-2. And then partstree.com has a lot of good parts break downs, I take the parts numbers I need here and then order through my local dealer.

Hi, I have a body sculpture treadmill and experienced the same cut out every time switched on. One of the magnets had come out of the pulley wheel. Just glued it back and now it works fine. Hope you find this helpful Annie
