I am receiving this message on Google Talk-

Connecting to Google Talk network has failed due to an expired
authentication certificate. The common cause of this expired
certificate is due to time differences between your computer and the
Google Talk network. Please verify your computer's clock settings
are correct and then press Retry.

I've checked the settings and everything is fine.

When I try to go to gmail or my blog, I get this notice on both IE & Firefox-

Secure Connection Failed
www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate expired on 5/2/2009 12:02 PM.
(Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate)
* This could be a problem with the server's configuration, or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.
* If you have connected to this server successfully in the past, the error may be temporary, and you can try again later.

Hello, this is the problem with the SSL security certificate.. to solve this problem in firefox ... first when this error is displayed there wil be a link that says " add this certificate " , click that link and add the certificate to ur browser.. the problem will be solved ... or else go to internet options in ur browser and check for certificate settings .then download the certificate from google with the option given there....

2)click on Properties.
3)Go to Shortcut tab on Google Talk Properties window.
4)On the Target textbox, add in the /nomutex to the end of the line so that it looks like below (or you can simply copy and paste the below syntax and replace the original).
“c:\program files\google\google talk\googletalk.exe” /nomutex
5)Click on OK.
You will be able to login with multiple accounts on google mail on the same system.

Right click on the time on your task bar thats at the bottom right of your screen. Check to see if your time and time zone are correct if they are go to www.gmail.com and log in then go to settings and make sure that the time zone is the set right there. One of them will be not set right. Once that is corrected you google talk will work.

  4. Select Use the following proxy.
  5. Tick the box next to Proxy requires Authentication.
  6. Enter the proxy username and password.
