Bios too old and the 32 Bit system is inadequate to manage the function desired.

SOURCE: Poweredge 1600sc cant see other 4 drives

you may have a raid 5 setup. you should be able to confirm this within the raid bios (ctrl+m). if all disks are part of the raid 5 array i believe you will only see this as one virtual disk. a raid 5 array will put the data across all the disks along with parity information. if one disk fails then when you add a replacment disk this parity is used to rebuild your array.

SOURCE: How long do Dell Poweredge 1600Sc Servers last? We...

If it's still working, there's no "requirement" to replace it, but Dell will probably not support it after a certain age.

Servers in general will fail on either power supplies or hard disks. Both of those are well past the average lifespan (what's called the "mean time between failure", or mtbf for the parts)

If you don't have an IT person or department, the simplest approach is to ask yourself this question:
"What is the cost to my business if this computer dies tomorrow?"

Then figure out how much it would be to replace the computer (purchase + install and configure)
If the replacement cost is less than the business-impact cost, then you should replace this 7-year-old box.

SOURCE: how to install windows7 64 bit dell poweredge

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D rate and vote for me:))julyallan01_28.jpg

Sounds like you're running Windows Server 2003 and want to run a backup utility.

Fortunately, this OS ships with a built-in backup utility called we call "ntbackup."

You can launch this program from Start -> Run, or you can find it in Start -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Backup.

Dell PowerEdge 1600sc server is running

What operating system is the server using? What roles is the server doing (DNS/DHCP/DC/Exchange/etc). If it's a Windows 2003 SBS box, you're supposed to be able to run upto about 75 users. I would never run more than 30 users on an SBS box (and it'd have to be a very high spec). You may consdier bringing another server to do an aditional role (file/print) and leave the primary to be an SBS box

1600sc second CPU

Hi

Yes, some systems (newer PowerEdge Servers, generally 6/7th Generation and above) have onboard VRMs.

1600sc is a 6th gen PowerEdge (with Simple Computing). I can checked and be absolute certain from within Dell. I'm on VAC until Saturday.

In the meantime, check the PRC model and revision and ensure that they match. Given that a single PRC POST/Boots, try upgrading (if not already) the system BIOS to latest revision.

If the PRC model/revision does match and you have the latest BIOS version, also if the VRMs are not needed, then from the Troubleshooting you have already done, we may conclude that the PRC 2 slot is faulty.

I will confirm the VRM query on Saturday.

No Video Signal on 1600sc

Disconnect from the network and all other accessories, and power up the system, this might be due to a faulty device attached to the system, eg: when you connect a usb faulty device the boot takes very long time, sometime it does not boot up.
