Canon MP470 prints colors light on Mountain Lion

I'm on Mac Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and have installed the correct driver (MP470 series Scanner Driver Ver. 13.9.2a) for my Canon MP470, however now the colors are printing very light. Colors were printing correctly previous to installing the new driver. I performed all maintenance tasks from the "menu" button on the printer itself, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: can not perform out of register colors correction

I have a similar printer, canon LBP 5000, with the same problem.

I contacted Canon guys and explained them the problem. This is what they said:
this problem occurs in either of the 2 situations:
1. when your colors/toners have gone or nearing empty.
2. when you have REFILLED your cartridges.

Solution:
Need to replace cartridge (which costs really tooo much).. its sad!

For me it was the first case, but, un-really-fortunately, I REFILLED the cartridges (this is al b4 contacting canon guys). And still the problem persisted (so now even the 2nd case).. After finding out that i will have to replace the cartridges.. i'm really confused whether i should do it,, or buy a new printer instead.! (since i've already spent and wasted quite a lot of amount in refilling the colors :( )

So, please DO NOT refill the cartridges if u god-forbid come across this problem ever. Go replace the cartridges. (unless n until someone else comes up with a solution atlast!)

Thanks,
Krishnan a.k.a krislogy

SOURCE: canon mp470 not printing

Download the most recent driver for your printer from the Canon website and install it. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=2610&modelid=15403#DownloadDetailAct

Choose the Drivers and Downloads tab, select your OS and the then download the correct version. That usually takes care of it.

SOURCE: My Canon MP210 never prints

Have you heard of Wysywig? What you see is what you get?

Well on color pictures on you monitor you get wysinwyg what you see is not what you get. Monitors are backlit, so colors are much more vibrant than what a printer can generally deliver. Explore the printing properties of your priinter as there are adjustments that can be made to enable better quality and true to color prints. The paper you use to print out your pics is also important in producing color that is close to original.

When you view your pics on screen try adjusting the color hue to the point it becomes overcolored and try a few experimental prints to see what level of the slide is needed to be used to achieve a brighter more vibrant picture. I would also like to say that the Canon 210 , whilst it is a very good printer, is at the cheaper end of the photo printer scale.

Talk to your ink and paper supplier, they can often show you or recommmend printers that are much higher and more accurate in delivering brighter and true to color photos.

Canon mf 4018

Hello - Canon does not provide a Mac driver that supports scanning, BUT if you have:

An Intel Mac

and
OS 10.5 (Leopard) or later (including snow leopard, lion, mountain lion and even mavericks)
there IS a fix: Just download the free Vuescan software for Mac, then use it to scan with the MF4018.

Go to: http://www.hamrick.com
Download Vuescan for Mac OS X

Install it, and start the application. It will recognize any scanners attached.
NOTE: If Vuescan asks you to identify your printer, you will not see the MF4018 listed. Choose the MF4010 instead - the 4010 and the 4018 use the same drivers.

Cannot find driver/software for my dusty Canon imageCLASS MF3240 on mac OS 10.7 Lion?

There is no driver for your printer to work with OSX. It was for Windows OS only. AND Apple does not support this particular model either.Link below list support printers by Apple OSX>

Lide 60 not working in mountain lion

Guide to installing Canon CanoScan LiDE 35, 50 and 60 on Mac OS X 10.8. Mountain Lion:

FIRST PART: DELETING OLD LiDE DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE

  • If this is the first attempt to install the scanner, skip this part

  • Trash the following files/folders from these folders:

HD:/Library/Image Capture/Twain Data Sources

delete the CanoScan CanoScan XXXX.ds file

(Make note of any other files that may be in this folder. If other files are present, move them to the desktop for now. Then place them back after successfully using the scanner.)

HD:/Library/Preferences

delete the 'CanoScan XXXX' folder

HD:/Users/Shared

delete the folders containing the name CanoScan, or starting with CNQL.

HD:/Applications

delete the CanoScan Toolbox Application

HD:/Users/YOUR-MAC-USERNAME/Library/Preferences

delete any items named "CanoScan Toolbox"

  • Restart your computer, then empty the trash

SECOND PART: MAKING YOUR SCANNER WORK

  • Make sure your scanner is well connected

  • Download the right driver depending on your Model. Also download the Scanner Software. Copy the filenames and search them via Google. Make sure you download the Canon files from an official Canon domain.

CanoScan LiDE 50 and LiDE 35 work both with the 35 driver:

lide35osx7721en.dmg

CanoScan LiDE 60 driver:

lide60osx11131en.dmg

VueScan Software:

http://www.hamrick.com/#download

VueScan 9.2 (or later) x32 for Mac OS X

Alternative to VueScan: CanoScan Toolbox. I prefer VueScan.

Try your luck with Version 4 or Version 5.

CanoScan Toolbox 4: cstbosx4934ej4.dmg

CanoScan Toolbox 5: cstbosx5014ej4.dmg

  • Open the downloaded driver file (lide35osx7721en.dmg or lide60osx11131en.dmg)

  • and Double-click the ScanGear file, install and restart when prompted

  • Open the downloaded VueScan file (vuex3292.dmg) and drag the VueScan application to the Mac Applications folder

  • Open the VueScan application. The scanner should be recognized automatically.

(Alternatively try and install CanoScan Toolbox 4 or 5)

I need a driver for my new Mountain Lion, Mac, to run the 9800XL

Microtek sent me this link to ScanPotter 1.07:
http://support.microtek.com/downloads/drv_specific.phtml?slct_os=9&prod=139&bymdlnme=1

It's not the same ScanWizard Pro software that used to work on my PowerPC G5 running OSX 10.5 Leopard, but at least it enables me to use my ScanMaker 9800XL with my late 2011 17" MacBookPro and OSX 10.8.2 Mountain Lion. Get it, it works!

My Canon MP470 is printing blank pages when I try to print from my Mac. It works fine from my PC. I find this ironic because I got the printer for free from Apple when I purchased my Mac.

During certain cases, you might have completed the physical integration perfectly. But still, you might not be able to accomplish the printing. This could be due to the absence of a driver installed in to your system. The problem could easily be averted, if you are installing the driver corresponding to the manufacturer. You might ensure that the version corresponds to the exact version of the printer series also.
