Dishes on top rack don't get clean

Could be that top spray arm needs replacing if it has one. Or maybe it’s not getting enough water and water valve needs replacing or maybe the bottom spray arm is no longer telescoping and needs replacing

Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad... Hi, Colleen. Thanks for using fixya.com. I suspect the chopper may be plugged which would cause poor circulation and poor washing results. The chopper is located in the sump housing assembly and is #6 in the picture below. It is accessed by removing the lower spray arm and the filter assembly. Disassembly requires a T10 and T15 Torx screwdriver. Once disassembled, use the picture as a guide for locating the chopper and clean or replace as necessary. Part number is 8268383 and is available at www.appliancezone.com.

Check all the water jet orfices in the moving arm. Try cleaning without loading the top rack.

If cleans well, mostly the upper rack dishes not arranged properly.

I hope you are using the main wash detergents. Rinse aid is just to remove the stains after the main wash rinse.

The inlet screen is at the bottom of the unit. Clean it out and re-try.

check the inlet strainer at the bottom of the unit - and also the nozzles on the top are for clogs/sediment.

brittgee, there has been a number of service flashes on this model. One that has to do with the upper spray arm assy. Complaint is poor washability; gritty glasses, food redeposited on glasses, especially in the corners. They redesigned the upper spray arm to improve water spray to all corners of the upper rack. The new part number is 8269022. They also redesigned the third level spinner for more consistant rotation and better washability. This was also under a service flash. Part number.8193768. Other reasons for poor wash would be; low water temperature, rinse aid disp. not working, loading etc. Catriver...post back.
