Hi,
I have the Motorola Phone Tools V5 software but cannot seem to figure out if I can download pictures from the phone to the computer. I tried to use windows explorer but the phone does not show as an external drive.
Motorola Phone Tools does not seem to have a feature to download pictures. I can find no dropdown menu that has download pictures functionality. Help!

Further research by me has uncovered the fact that certain cell phone companies customize the Cell Phone Operating system. Thus some folks with the same phone can hook up their phone to the computer via the USB connection and see a drive letter, (E:) for example, while others cannot. Verizon is one that had blocked your ability to directly access photos. My Motorola W755 can do this if you have a phone from ATT, for example but not the same phone from Verizon. Verizon wants you to use their process which involves uploading to a My Verizon website file then download to the computer...that way they collect $0.25 per photo. I told Verizon to chuck it as it is simply not worth it for me to pay for pictures.
I solved my problem as recommended by Apprentice by purchasing a memory card from Costco and setting the phone up to capture picture files on the memory card. I merely extract the card and plug it into my card adapter and insert it into the USB port of my computer. I then see the card in Windows Explorer as a drive and can drag and drop picture files.
I think Verizon is horrible to milk money this way.
Can anyone help Flash the firmware to bypass this ****? I hope I can use the verizon W755 as a memory card. I have bought a 4G mem card from best buy.
The only problem with the memory card solution is that the case is so flimsy that after awhile it will break from opening and closing the case. A real pain.
is anyone able to flash the fix to bypass the verizon ripoff.
I think most people are like me -- they want to know how to connect a USB cable between their phone and computer to download files -- sort of drag and drop them between Windows Explorer drive letters. Other sites have suggested that this is not available unless special software is downloaded. I'm still researching.
