back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Monitor does not turn on

The most common cause of power issues with that model is a dead power supply resulting from a failure in the capacitors on the power board. This is a very easy repair. You have to replace the 6 filter capacitors on the power supply board. The capacitors on the power supply board should be flat on the top and when they fail the tops will bulge showing failure. You can open the monitor up and look at the power supply board and check for the bad capacitors to verify the failure point. Here is a link to some information and parts kit to repair that board.

I love Corsair power supplies, but in this case I would go with the Antec TruePower TP-II 430. That particular Antec model is the best in it's class.

Check the tv power supply board.That the board where the tv power A/c plug into it.Check the tv power supply board carefully for dying components parts that are called capacitors parts.Bad or dying capacitors parts on the tv power supply board are alway causes this problems to the tv.Bad or dying capacitors parts are very easily to spots,all these capacitors parts are alway bulges up onto it tops.Never have plats round tops as they suppose too.U have all the tools and know basic electronic also can do basic soldering work,u should changes all these dying capacitors parts in the tv power supply board with no problems at all.If u check all over the tv power supply board and it have no dying and leaking capacitors parts to the tv power supply board all.Then the tv Y-Sustain main logic Tuner board it is the causes and the problems.The tv Y-Sustain main logic Tuner signal board that is the board that take in the tv imcomming tv broadcasting signal cable plug into it.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish tv power supply board and or the tv Y-Sustain main logic Tuner signal board for the replacement.

TV Turns itself off with power light flashing

It is broken capacitors. Olevia used cheap quality capacitors for this model. Open up the back cover and examine the capacitors on the board closely. You will find a lot of capacitors oozing capacitors.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Relative to Olevia TV Power Supply Problems Solution provided by: kb8tez Matt, the problem he had was Electrolytic Capacitor CS21. Upon careful examination of the Power Supply Circuit Board I find that CS21 is in parallel with CS22. Simply replacing BOTH Capacitors makes for a more permanent fix. Radio Shack P/N 272-1032 1000UF 35V Capacitors @ $1.59 each plus tax makes a very inexpensive repair. Apparently the same power supply circuit board is common to many different Olevia Models.

Antec 430w power supply won't turn on

if when you try to turn on youre computer the coolers are spinning for a short while as the computer would start and than they turn off, than it has a problem with the AC/DC diode transformer. There ast=re 4 to 8 diodes in there in parralel with asa many capacitors witch are transforming alternative curent from the secundary winding in direct current. In this case replace the diodes with ones with the same technical specs. If the computer won't even try to start check for brohen resistors ( or safety fuses.. the same thing because any resistor is a safety fuse ) or broken capacitors ) they are broken if they are blackened. The resistors can be checked with an Ohmmeter ( if theyr impedance is null or infinite they are broken ) the capacitors can be checked in the same way with a multimeeter ( if theyr capacity is 0 microFarads they are broken, or you could check them by applying to every one of them a closed circuit with a low voltage light bulb as the ones in small flash lights and a AA or AAA battery... if the light bulb turns on then the capacitor is broken). if none of these are the problems than check the PowerGood Signal or PGS. It is carryed usualy on a grey or green wire from the power supply to the motherboard trought the ATX connector. You can find the color coding for the wires on the case of the power supply (RED-+5v YELLOW +12v Orange +3.3v etc.). If the PGS wire is severed the computer will fail to start. Replace the PGS wire to solve the problem. Eventually check for any loose wires in the power supply because they can lead to shorts or to non functionality. Be shure to check first the capacitors that modulate the direct courrent in the power supply. if those are broken the power supply will fail to function. The destruction of those capacitors can be caused by using innapropriate voltage instead of 220v 110v or the other way. This thing is controled by a switch on the back of the power supplu located usually under the power cord insertion slot.

Power cord buzzes and MACPro does not recognize it

This is a fault in the power supply itself, I have just repaired one of these power supplies successfully.
The fault is caused by the failure of the filter capacitors on the 12V supply rail, and if the power supply is left connected to the mains supply (In our case 240V 50Hz) without the drive connected as a load, the unloaded output voltage will exceed the voltage rating of the capacitors, causing their failure. The failed capacitors had very obvious bulges at the top, and one was beginning to leak onto the PCB.

The filter capacitors on the 12V supply rail are rated at 16V, and the cpacitors on the 5V rail are rated at 10V, and when operated without a load, the 12V rail rises to approximately 19V, and the 5V rail rises to approximately 8V. All output filter capacitors are 1000uF, and 105deg C temperature rated.

I repaired my power supply by replacing all of the filter capacitors on the DC low voltage output rails with 1000uF 25V capacitors. Be careful to only fit the 105 deg C rated caps, as they operate at elevated temperatures in an enclosed environment with no ventillation to cool the power supply.
To ensure that the repair was reliable, I also replaced the filter capacitor on the 5V rail with the same 1000uF 25V, even though that capacitor showed no immediate signs of failure.

When reassembling the power supply, care must be taken to ensure that parts like the ferrite cored transformer are thermally bonded to the aluminium heatsink with a smear of heatsink compound.
When the power supply was first powered up following repair, everything was normal, the green power LED came on as usual, the supply outputs both came up OK, and the unit was not making any buzzing sounds, completely silent. The HDD now operated as normal when once again powered from this power supply.

This was the fix for my particular LaCie power supply model ACU057A-0512, and the supply once again works normally.

Colour Noise and Dim Display

you may have a slightly damaged power supply...although swapping the main supply chassis may solve, I have seen front panels that have an additional supply section. look on the front panel board for any TP's and probe with an O-scope. if you see a TP that may also show (+ xx V), where xx is a numerical value-may be one x only, the scope must show a straight horizontal line that is shifted vertically away from its normal (ground) position. that confirms a DC value present. then determine the DC value of the shift. Another possibility, since you invested, is to search ebay for a second unit for part swapping. look for as-is units.
