Dell plasma 42 inch

Remote won't turn TV on, must use button on TV. After TV is on, remote works but if I use the power button on the remote it doesn't work. After trying it, no other remote buttons work. Any ideas. I did recently move the TV but I didn't drop it or anything. Also, I used to use component cables from my cable box. During this recent move I hooked it up with a HDMI cable, it worked fine for a few hours and then the picture started blinking from normal to black every few seconds. Sound was fine, switched back to component cables and it's fine, except for it still has the remote power button issue. The regular power button on the TV is also iffy on whether or not it will work.

OK, I am just a regular guy... not a television repairman. I am not an idiot but changing boards is out of my depth. Can a TV repair joint do this job for a reasonable price?

Fot the most part, you have solved your problem (pow bd), The main bd may also need to be replaced as well. The is a signal upon powering up the system. the pow bd communicates with the signal board. The signal bd, also is responsible for ALL of your additional I/O lines. Between the two of these, + a firmware update, i think the tv will be just fine.

SOURCE: 42" pansonic plasma hdmi problem

if I understand your question properly.. its because your direct tv output doesnt broadcast in high def so its giving you the standard tv definition inputs which are RGB or Component.so you will lose picture quality cos its running at fewer lines or pixels. hope this helps

SOURCE: HDMI Cable problem

Well, first you might want to try another hdmi connection behind your TV.If it appears to have the same message, you need to check your TV setup and be sure the HDMI video is active.
Secondly,go with the recommendation of the set top box.You will use component video cable to connect from your set top box component video output(Y PR PB) to your TV (Y PR PB) and see if that actually work.If so,just use the cable box for the time being and call your cable company for another cable box to replace this one!

SOURCE: Is my ILO 42" "EDTV" plasma ready for just a regular antenna?

No, it doesn't have a digital tuner. If you want to watch digital channels you will have to acquire a digital set-top box and connect it to the tv thru the av inputs.

Dell TV not responding to remote

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. In some cases, the remote control might need to clean.

I have a 2006 Hitachi Ultravision 42 inch plasma

plasma tv units use a lot of power ,well into the hundreds of watts 9 some big screens use up to 800 watts to work)
I suggest that you consider a new led unit which uses barely any power and you will get a remote with it

Pioneer plasma 42 inch tv won't turn on. power runs thru dvd. remote is sending signal and dvd has power.

There should be a power button on the bottom of the panel that has to be depressed for the television to power on. It is the main power supply button and without it there is no power going into the TV.

Maxent 42 inch TV Keys locked and Remote will not work

See if you can reset the electronics to factory defaults. Also check with the mfg about this. If nothing works you have one sick puppy on your hands.

Try this - turn set on then pull the power plug. Then push and hold the power button to on position for a few minutes.
Release button and plug back in Turn on and see what happens.

Vizio 50 inch plasma -- remote not working

You can also try to take out the batteries and push all of the buttons with the batteries out of the remote. Then put the batteries back in and push the power button on the remote. If this doesnt work press the two TV buttons at the same time and the remote should be fine.
