My Magic Blue wont power on.

My vacuum wont power on since static electricity went thru my hand to the handle of vacuum and shut it off. What could it be? (And I did check fuse box already!)

There is a wire contact on your vacuum handle.
try to check all the wire inside your vacuum, or if you cant, try to call for an expert technician to check up your vacuum.

Got a dyson dc14! Original. When hoovering i went to pick the wire up down by the bottom and got a shock. Is this just static? Is it normal? When using on carpets?

You stated you "went to pick the wire up down by the bottom and got a shock". If the wire was just a piece of wire that happened to be on your floor then you likely got a shock from static electricity. There should be no wires exposed on your vacuum so if the wire came from your vacuum that could be an electrical problem that could be very dangerous.

When vacuuming carpet with the electric power brush it will ocassionly , go to zero suction mode and shut off the brush. I have tried to cause it to happen by playing with the joint areas ( handle to tube...

You gave a good start to giving us good information to help you with solving this problem-- But I need a little more information:

It sounds like you have the Electric Motor driven Power nozzle/ Floor attachment-- am I correct? (Not the type that has a little vacuum motor down at the floor attachment-- Not one that depends upon air flowing thru the unit to power the brush, -- am I correct?)

You can control the motor with a switch at the handle-- correct?

So here is the question: - when you say "the electric power brush -- goes to zero suction" -- what tells you that it 'went to zero suction'?-- the little red flag on the vacuum?-- or what?

I am suspecting something might be caught up in the floor wand-- or at the power nozzle itself-- or even in the flexible hose. Do you know how to take the hose off, and place the hand-held end, in the opening in the Miele Vacuum? Can you do that, and clear out the hose first-- and then the hose with the want connected?

If they are all clear-- we may need to open the floor plate on the floor nozzle, and check for something caught in the air passageway--

Power Problem

Hi There,

Unfortunately this is being caused by static electricity building up in the electronic controls in the handle of the hose. I've seen this problem on numerious occasions, and in fact I have the twin brother of the Blue Moon, or the Silver Moon which used the same hose, and has the same problems in my own home.

The good news is that Miele has redesigned the hoses to fix this, and I have never seen a single problem on the newer style hoses. I guess the bad news is that the hose is not cheap.

I would recommend to you to go ahead and purchase the new hose. The average life expectancy of your Miele is 20-25 years, so you still have a lot of life left in your vacuum.

Here's a link to the SES125 Hose that fits your Miele Blue Moon on our website:
http://www.govacuum.com/miele-165.html

To change the hoses out, simply push the two tabs on the end of the hose that plugs into the vacuum, and pull the hose backwards until it disconnects. You'll see on the end of the new hose electrical connectors. Simply line these up with the opposity receptacles on the canister and push the hose down until you hear a snapping noise.

I really hope that this information was helpful to you. If you have any follow up questions, or would like a clarification, please use the comment box on this page.

If this was able to help you fix your machine, please be so kind and rate my repair or leave me feedback. This is really appreciated.

Thanks again,

Was vaccuming and vaccum quit. Tried unplugging and turning back on. Getting absolutely no power. unscrewed screw under handle and tried to make sure connection was being made. Don't really know what to...

ok..If you have a multimeter you can check plug fuse then switch and motor, if you put leads across the plug you will get some reading if its working.could be thermal cut out on the motor.

Vacuum shrinks, power is still on but no suction

perhaps there is something stuck in the vacuum. Look where the hose fits in. There is obvioulsy no blockage in the hose because you have suction. Do the power brushes spin on the vacuum?? Take the bag off, and inspect the area the bag fits in for blockage.

No suction for use of crevice tools, running hot, then shut off

Obviously no suction in hose would indicate a blockage, over heating is a breaker that shuts off the machine when it over heats. There is no way to clean hose the on this model because the hose does not detach at either end, therefore I had to employ the use of the good old wire hangar. Job complete up and running, with good suction. It is amazing what a prayer to God can do.

No Power coming thru hose handle

It probably wouldn't help, it sounds like the switch. Have you tried pushing the reset button? (It's a little red button on the end of the power nozzle.)
