I can record shows from tv channels but not from the pc screen
The PC connection on a TV is an input only and you cannot record to a PC using it. You would have to hook up to an output from the tv, most only have audio out for stereos, and the output audio and video would go to a converter box to put it on a coax output, then hook the coax output up to a tuner card in your computer.

Turn off the text box function of the closed captioning.
At this point, your TV is acting like a second monitor (as if you had two monitors hooked up to the same video card, which, you do).
All you have to do is drag the content you want off the right side of your computer monitor, and into the TV. You would need to have both screens active.

i haven't tried unplugging my 19 " Dynex (Model: DX-LCDTV19)...yet, hopefully i won't have to. but, i did run into the 65535 ÿÿÿ... thing, except my screen actually read "65535 ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ bad" and i was not able to change the channel. the "air" option under the "Air/Cable" option under the "Channel" heading of the "Menu" -phew!- did yield me about 20 channels; but it was not the ****-near hundred channels i'm used too, ****! so i did do a cable-channel-channel-scan, as forementioned by the illustrious mr/mrs Dynex100 him/herself in the post immediately prior to this one! and this fancy technique reunited me with my beautiful cable- and it feels so good! much like a mother kitten refinding her unlost baby kitten. furthermore, the "65535 ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ bad" went away...for the most part. now my screen looked as it normally would, but still read "ÿÿÿÿÿ"<--- to a much less extent, as you can plainly see, yet still obtrusive! so i powered off, waited impatiently for about three seconds, and then slapped the ole **** tube right back on. the weak and merciful "ÿÿÿÿÿ" blip had miraculously vanished into thin-digital-cable-air! i then went on to taunt the puny-little circumvented "ÿÿÿÿÿ" blip by literally programming the sleep timer to do its thing in precisely 5 mins. the 5 mins. ticked away, and my radiation king 5000 turned off on cue. without hesitation, i lept from my wheelchair and brought power back into my 19" Dynex (Model: DX-LCDTV19) by putting it into "On" mode. this exact sequence of crazy manuvers must have really intimidated the "ÿÿÿÿÿ" blip, 'cuz he ain't been 'round since! hope this helps someone.........................................somewhere.

You need to lower your PC video resolution to the native resolution of this TV. It is too high for the TV to display.
