Hello, when using my built in microphone on my laptop compac#6120 to talk with another person , I can hear the other person clearly but they cannot hear my voice, they can hear everything else background noice, my breathing.... Can you please tell me how to resolve this problem? Thanking you in advance, Shirleyann Digby

    I use google talk when talking with others. They cannot hear me at all except for background noise, my breathing....I can hear them crystal clear. where is the built in microphone on my laptop compac no 6120? Do I need to speak directly into microphone?

    Can you please help me resolve this.

If they can hear your breathing that means that you are not speaking in to the microphone, do a microphone test on the computer and see if you hear your own voice. If you don't the program that your using is set to use wrong sound input and the settings will have to be changed.

What program do you use to speak with others?

    Hi Compaq nx6120 does not have a build in microphone, there is a microphone jack on the computer next to the speaker jack. Can you try using a external microphone? they cost only 1-3 usd / euro / etc

I will first want to ask that do your laptop have a built in microphone like that use for speech recognition? If yes, has your skype account been configured to use this microphone? if no, configure that in the settings tab of your skype account.
If your laptop do not have an in built microphone then get a head phone that has a microphone attached to it and configure it in your skype account.

I'm on Skype, and the person I'm talking to cannot hear me. They can hear feedback sounds from their computer and their voice, but can't hear me talk. This a Toshiba with a built in video camera and...
The problem seems to be with your friend's setup, and possibly yours. Try adjusting mic levels and volume levels to where they don't interfere with each other. Ex.--you talk , they hear you at a volume that is too loud and it gets into their mic, creating a loop....feedback. You do the same too. Trial and error. Hope this is helpful.

try re-installing the driver.

it's a bit complicated, but if you could figure out what kind of microphone you have i could get it for you.

right now try googling your computer make and model, plus "microphone driver"
it should come up with a link to download something, then install that if it looks trustworthy enough.

Cannot find built in microphone on laptop HP Compac no 6120
This model hp compaq nc6120 pc notebook has NO built-in mic. I read it on the manufactures website in the "reviews" section. But it does have a port where you can connect an external mic and it will work "BEAUTIFULLY" The port is on the right side of the laptop next to the dvd/cd drive.
