Speed reduction of Hobart A200 mixer

I need to reduce the speed of my Hobart A200. I'm using it for creaming honey and at it's lowest speed it flips honey out of the bowl. Can I reduce it's speed electronically?

Hi Don. If your mixer is hurling honey, you must be very popular in the ant world...Sorry!

The Hobart electric motor on your mixer was designed and engineered to operate on 115-120 volt current and is the most dependable, and capable commercial mixer out there Is it possible for you to use a commercial Imerssion Blender for the first part of your mixing operation. Once your honey thickens a bit perhaps the a200 wouldn't hurl honey. Another consideration would be to either try a different beater or modify the one you have by removing surface area from the beater. If you remove metal, be sure to do it in a balanced fashion to avoid unwanted vibration in the beater. If you're not up to removing metal, take it to a machine shop and they'll do it for you. It probably won't take long, or cost much, and they have the expertise and the equipment to do it properly. If you found this solution helpful, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45.

What type of grease do i use for Hobart a200 mixer did remove all the grease out of it need to refill add how much do i need

be careful here as the grease used has to meet food quality requirements and is not car grease
it does not need to be full of grease , just enough to cover the teeth
go google and type in --hobart food mixer model a200 --and there may be a pdf version parts list or workshop manual
other than that there will be a contact number for your country or area where you can get advice

Hobart A200 mixer won't start

My fantastic guy just rebuilt my A200. He says it's likely that your back plate is slightly off center so that the center arbor is touching the windings-- any contact and the machine won't run. The tolerances are thousandths of an inch in there.

I bought the slicer and shredder set for the KitchenAid stand mixer, no instructions were in the box. What speed do I use the attachments on?

Your attachment speed will depend on what it is you're slicing or shredding. Begin at speed setting two and work up to the speed where the motor begins to labour, then reduce the speed by one notch. Always start too slow, then move up. If you find this solution usefull, please rate it. Good luck. ricardok45

Hobart A200 Mixer not working

Sundance,
Please visit the corp website www.hobartcorp.com and click on the "Sign In" link in the upper right hand corner. You'll need to complete a brief registration form, but then you'll land in the Hobart Resource Center.

Hobart no longer manufactures the A200 mixer - but you can review and download a user manual and a parts catalog from the Resource Center on your mixer. That should help you understand the parts need.

We do sell replacement parts direct to end users, just visit our service website at www.hobartservice.com - and click on the "Locate on Office" link. You'll be able to contact your local Service branch to purchase a replacement part OR to have them take a look at the unit and provide a quote on fixing it.

If you have additional questions on Hobart products - please contact me at [email protected] .

Thanks!

Same speed

I believe the speed control needs to be replaced. It controls how much electricity is sent to the motor.
