Scanner hp 5610 not working

Cannot get scanner to work. it says it is not set up, but printer works - hp 5610

The printer may work using a driver provided from within windows. Did you install it yourself? I would uninstall it,download updated drivers and reinstall it.

Scanners come with scanning software. This software must be installed for the scanner to work. I would install the scanning software, and try scanning again.

SOURCE: hp 5610 scanner not working with vista home edition

in vista you have to go to photo gallery to scan from the scanner.
As drivers for scanner for vista are not available
