MY STREET PILOT C330 IS NOT CHARGING.

I BOUGHT MY C330 JUST OVER A YEAR AND USED IT ONCE. I TRY USING IT AGAIN AND WHEN I PLUG IT IN THE CAR IT IS TELLING ME THAT THE EQUIPMENT IN DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SOURSE AND WILL BE TURNED OFF IN 30 SECONDS. I GET A NEW BASE AND CHARGER AND STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CAR CHARGER OUTLET IS WORKING OK BUT THE UNIT IS NOT SEEING THE POWER.

THANKS FOR THE INFO. I WAS ABLE TO CHARGE THE UNIT FROM MY COMPUTER USING THE UBS CABLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO THE SAME FROM MY CAR CHAGER. I AM HOWEVER HAPPY BECAUSE THE COMPANY DECIDED TO REPLACE MY UNIT. THANKS

I am a pastor who has become somewhat dependant upon the Garmine to fine hospitals, homes and other locations - It is virtually new - I have had repeated trouble with the unit not accepting the charge from my car power sourse. You sent me a new cable to connect the car power to the unit - but the same issue is reperating itself - the unit comes on for a few seconds and then goes off

please help - I just convinced my son-in-law in Mozambique Africa to get a gps - he bought the nuvi - do I have to buy another unit?

The battery has probably drained to the point of being "empty", such that it's putting an enormous "load" on the incoming power from your power adapter. For all intents and purposes, it's sucking up so much of the incoming power from your power cable, your Garmin thinks there's little, if any, power available. That's because the drained battery is acting almost like a "short circuit", in electrical terminology. Try leaving the unit plugged into the charger for a day or two or three; if the battery hasn't been permanently damaged, it may come back to life enough fully, or at least enough to not act like a "short" across the incoming power power.

Garmin street pilot c330 goes on and then goes off

Try to charge the unit for 4 hrs by using a wall adapter and then try power on it again and if still the same after you full charge the unit try to contact the manufacturer check if there is a latest firmware update for the unit.

2 Garmins, BOTH shut off right after they are turned on

Waking up your c330...

If you left your Garmin c330 on running the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off. Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET" button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery should come back to life. Cheers

<<<<<REPLY: In your case, the battery seems to be getting weak. You must change it.

My garmin street pilot 330 will not power on

I've had a couple of Garmin C330 units and a C340. They're good quality except for the flimsy power plugs. My first one out of the box had a defective plug which made intermittent contact when I plugged it into the lighter. Tightening the knurled nut on the tip of the plug helped somewhat, but didn't fix it completely. It became a non-issue after I bought a friction mount which came with a better cord and plug. The friction mount also stopped the problem of the suction cup constantly falling off the windshield.

Have you tried charging the unit on the computer? If not, try doing this for a few hours. Sometimes it can help.
