Sir:I tried to start my G62Laptop from HP after removing battery and unplug the ac, waited and tried after discharge the built in power, reconnect the ac and still did not start. It worked in the past and was started and not now also tried combination of esc and power button:did not start check ac adapter, fine In the past,it worked after disconnecting battery, power, waited and then by pressing power button tried several techniques like f8 and power button, also f10 and f11..but no luck to start Any easy way to start other then above tries, please help before take for repair. Thanks
"Worked in the past, doesn't work now", That's sort of the definition of a failure. Has the laptop been dropped? What does the laptop when you try to start? Do you see LED"s blink? Fan spins? HHD LED blink? Battery light on? Has the AC jack been damaged due to pulling on the cord? Did you try a cord/charger with the EXACT same power spec? Test the DC volts at the laptop cord plug with a multimeter. Reseat the Memory mods. May be a HDD failure? Post results
The CMOS battery will cause the Time and date to revert back. Try another cord/charger of the EXACT same power specs. AND , Look at the procedure to change the CMOS/RTC battery, try this FIRST :http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Ha... Post results, There batteries are easy to find at a Pharmacy or Walmart. SOURCE: Hotkey Combination Fn - F10 F11 F12 doesn't work
I don't think it's a Windows problem, it will be notebook driver fault. The drivers for your keyboard hotkeys may need to be installed again or enabled. The driver will be on the cdrom that came with the laptop or on a seperate partition of your hard drive, normally in the restore folder, but just install drivers not a full restore.
SOURCE: HP Compaq Evo N610c doesn't boot
I think your battery was out of charge and your AC Adapter was defect so the laptop can't power up and can't charge the battery!
SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite M45 S331 PSM40U-01R001 will not power on
No.. the problem has nothing to do with your battery....
Yes Quite Possibly the motherboard is fried...
SOURCE: hp dv9000 will not start up. blue lights are go
you get a black screen right, nothing at all then no bios, no logo, nothing at all?
Do you get any beep codes and if so in what order?
did you try different ram?
First try to plug your laptop to an external monitor. If it works, you screen is bad, if it doesn't you probably need a new motherboard.

If a laptop gets a spill, for future use, first remove ALL power, AC abd battery and try to soak liquid and dry with a hair dryer on low.. If the battery is dead remove it. Here's a procedure for removing the Memory;http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum... Take a look at the HP Support Site :http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum... You must eliminate the AC cord/charger as a potential problem by using a different AC cord/charger of the EXACT same power spec, with the battery out. Your issue sounds like a Power issue, if you have a multimeter to verify DC volts at the cord laptop plug to eliminate the cord/charger in the troubleshooting process.
The battery may have damaged the cord/charger or vise-versa. Take a look at this: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...
Do you leave the cord/charger plugged in , and connected to the HP ALL the time or remove when not in use? Any power surges lately? Electrical storms? May be the cord/charger/transformer is dead ?
Has the fan, heatsink, and vents free of dust? No overheating? CMOS battery in good shape? Did you ever notice the HP's, when it booted, time/clock wrong?
Since laptop is not coming on,i have unplugged and remove battery for last 5 days. All vents are clean. It has not come on so no overheatin>i purchased brand new battery from Amazone but now it is not charged as computer is not turn on or started. When laptop was working and time/date was always had a problem and often readjusted. No power surge lately in the area but heavy snow last 12 days ago in colorado. When not in use, i shut down.
Mr.Carson: Good news after your suggestion to keep my HP laptop plugged in with Battery in and ac power charger in,last night It came alive with a note that fan was shut down and so does the computer..but now it is on and hope it will work.So thanks.I still am not able to make my apple laptop Macbook pro alive. It has a solid green light when ac cahrger in,keep drying(spill water 12days ago),tried dip in rice, kept in hot sun and keep plugged in hoping the heat from AC charger will dry inside of it..It is hard to open for battery as This new Apply Macbook has inside battery and needs to remove 10 very small screws and open the back totally...which iam affraid and will wait another 5days hoping it will dried and come out.I tried all suggested tricks on UTUBE,but no luck..so if u have any suggestion for Macbook pro of 2012 model,13" pl help. Thanks
If the Mac got wet and ALL power, AC and Battery, was not removed immediately the damage , most likely has been done. For future reference , if it get wet Pull the plug and remove battery at once, soak up water with a cloth and dry with a warm hairdryer. As you know, if liquid reached any components that were energized , most likely , were shorted out. Further more, and liquid that remained on the components that were energized by the battery, caused further damage.
