No Taskbar Vista Ultimate x64. 2nd User logon screen works ok. Admin screen logon is missing the taskbar. ASUS MB P5B deluxe, corsair twin ddr2-800--4GB, Intel core 2 duo E6600 conroe 2.4 GH. Workaround by placeing the icons on the desktop, they function as expected. Any suggestions, been to the blog and tried looking at the reg for errors, did not locate any (reference my level) does not mean they are not there. Any suggestions? From the control panel the taskbar is not available on open.

Sounds like explorer.exe is not running:

1. Hit Ctrl + Shift + Esc at same time.
2. Windows Task Manager should open.
3. Hit File on top menu.
4. Select New Task.
5. Type explorer.exe and hit OK

That should bring your task bar back.

After looking at the link I'm giving you I'd go get a new motherboard,but thats up to you.Hope this link helps

Right click on your "sidebar" and clikc on the "lock the taskbar taskbar"

left click on an open area of your "sidebar" and drag it to the bottom of the screen.

Right click an open area on your new ":taskbar" and select "lock the taskbar".

Enjoy.

Make sure all Vista updates have been installed, and check the ASUS website for any bios updates. I believe that motherboard had a known issue with stand bye.

mine does this with windows 7, right click on desktop and open 'personalize' then open 'taskbar and start menu'
From here choose to move your taskbar location to the side of the screen and click apply. it should return, then just tell it to go back to the bottom.

it might be your taskbar is on auto hide try this

IE11 is the only support MS browser by Ms. now.
and some sites even ban IE11, now, as i have seen .
all older versions of IE are for sure banned by most www web sites on earth, for GOOD REASONS>

The problem is of the display side so if possible connect the pci
display card or can repaire the mother board, If not then only solution is to change the mother board.
