My front loader Fridgidaire washing machine would make a horrible loud noise on the spin cycle, after taking the whole machine apart, the drum was cracked in four places and mold and mildew was on the back of the drum. The company is sending a new drum to us in 10 - 15 days free of charge, the drum is guaranteed for 25 yrs. but I have to have someone put the washing machine back together......Is there a recall on my model of frontloader....I have always had mildew smell, also the rubber on the washing machine smells constantly, but I guess the mildew from the drum was the culprit, more than the black rubber on the front the the machine. Sorry no recalls on fridgidaire front load,,there pretty good units,,the mildew and slugg comes from not using he or low suddsing detergent..now dont move so fast ,,because a new spin basket may not solve your problems with noise..check that back tub bearing while you have it a part..now that unit is fresh and new ,,clean the unit every other month with bleach..hot wash cold rinse,,that will keep suds slug and smell out unit...onthejob
