SOURCE: ERROR MESSAGE AFTER INSTALLING MY LEXMARK X6650 PRINTER

Hi. That error pops up when you're using an installation cd that runs on Microsoft .Net Framework Version 2. Unfortunately, Windows 7 doesn't have that. Make sure you don't have the Lexmark installation cd in the computer. Eject the installation cd from the computer. Restart the computer and check if problem still persists. But if there's no cd in the computer and you have tried installing the software using the cd the first time, uninstall the Lexmark software by going to Start Menu > Programs > Lexmark 6600 Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. Reboot pc. Reinstall, this time, using the same installer you downloaded from the Lexmark website only. Don't use the installation cd. Hope this fixes your problem.

Hi, in Windows 7 Microsoft.net framework 3 is installed and newer versions can be installed on it. If you try to install an older version, it will block your installation.
1-Try to download it from Microsoft\'s website and install it with administrator account privilege.
2-Go to the control panel, find out if Windows features are on or off. Try to check
Microsoft.net framework and then restart Windows. Then reinstall it.
3-If you have still problems, go to www.microsoft.com and search microsoft dot net framework 2 in windows 7.

I keep getting an error mesage Microsoft .Net Framework Version is required to continue!

You need to allow the Operating system to update from Microsoft. The .Net Framework is currently at version 4. You can download the updates yourself from the Microsoft website.

HP colour laserjet 1600 not recognised by USB port

I believe the problem is related to microsoft .NET Framework. I have researched and there are many posts of incompatibility between .NET Framework and many printers not just 1600. My 1600 stopped working and I traced the problem to upgrade to .NET Framework 3.5 I uninstalled 1600, then uninstalled .NET Framework 3.5 (and 3.0 as well for good measure), reinstalled 1600 and it is working fine now again. You can uninstall .NET versions using Add/Remove programs on the Control Panel. To avoid re-updating, I also turned off Windows automatic updates. I left .NET Framework 2.0. No problems with other programs but the computer did have trouble rebooting the very first time after I uninstalled .NET Framework 3.5 and 3.0. Unknown if that was related to the uninstall or a completely unrelated problem. Anyway if you want to try something less drastic than removing .NET versions, check out this Microsoft link:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961118
refers to a printer fix related to .NET. In my experience, the Microsoft fixes never work but you are welcome to try before uninstalling .NET Framework versions.

I have been trying to download the drivers for Lexmark printer Z53 for a week. I've tried several times on two different computers and keep getting error "message 1603 error installing Microsofft.net...

Windows Update error code "0x643" and Windows Installer error code "1603" are generic error codes. Typically, these error codes mean that the update was not installed. These errors codes are usually caused by a corruption in the .NET Framework installation or by an inconsistency on the MSI database state.

Method 1: Manually remove and reinstall .NET Framework loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); To manually remove and reinstall the .NET Framework, follow these steps:
    1. Remove the .NET Framework.
      1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
      2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
      3. Note each version of the .NET Framework that is already installed on the computer. Then, uninstall all the versions of the .NET Framework.
      4. When you are prompted, restart the computer.
    2. Use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to clean up the MSI database state for all the versions of the .NET Framework.
      1. Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. The following file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility package now. (http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe)

Newer Lexmark printers require the .Net framework be installed for the software to function correctly. Verify requirements by the documentation or during the software install. If need be download the correct version .NET 2 (I believe) from Microsoft's website.
