How to Keep Normal Users from Shutting Down a Terminal Server

With Windows 2000 server it is possible for anyone to shutdown the server by default. Sometimes a user, who is not familiar with terminal server can accidentally shutdown a server causing all other users to be disconnected. It is possible to disallow this option from the menu, busying a group policy or other techniques. When using a group policy to remove the shutdown command, it is near impossible to shutdown the server even if
you are the administrator. This method should not be used due to the complexity of shutting down the server after the policy has been enforced. The following method should be used to disallow the shutdown command.

Changing permissions
1. Locate the tsshutdn.exe application; it should be in the c:winntsystem32 folder.
2. Right click the file and select Properties
3. From the Properties windows, click on the Security tab
The following screen appears.

4. Uncheck the box for Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object.
This will cause the following warning to appear.

5. Select Copy. This will copy all the current objects.
6. After copying the existing permissions list, remove the Everyone and the Authenticated
Users object.

7. After making this change, click on the Ok button to save the changes and close all open
windows.
With this change made, when a user selects Shutdown from the Start menu the only option
available will be to:
Log off <user>
Disconnect
When the Administrator or a user with admin rights selects Shutdown from the Start menu they will have all
the options available to them:
Shutdown
Restart
Log off <user>
Disconnect

I GET MESSAGE"sid POOL EXHUST" when i try add any object TO AD

You have to seize the RID master for you domain, appears to be removed from network or can't be contacted, you can use the next commands in order to get the actual (MYSERVER should be replaced by the name of you server

C:\WINDOWS>ntdsutil
roles
connections
connect to server MYSERVER
q
Select operation target

then you get the next response:

Server "MYSERVER" knows about 5 roles
Schema - CN=NTDS Settings,CN=MYSERVER,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=MYDOMAIN,DC=net
Domain - CN=NTDS Settings,CN=MYSERVER,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=MYDOMAIN,DC=net
PDC - CN=NTDS Settings,CN=MYSERVER,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=MYDOMAIN,DC=net
RID - CN=NTDS Settings,CN=MYSERVER,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=MYDOMAIN,DC=net
Infrastructure - CN=NTDS Settings,CN=MYSERVER,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=MYDOMAIN,DC=net
select operation target:

the interested server is RID - this must be the name of a actual server, if this server is permanently down the you need seize the rol, use the next guide:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc784077%28WS.10%29.aspx

if the server is an actual server you must review the event log in this server in order to get more clues of the error.

Schema classes and attributes

Every directory object you create is an instance of an object class contained in the schema. Each object class contains a list of associated attributes that determine the information the object can contain. Classes and attributes are defined independently, so that a single attribute can be associated with multiple classes. All schema classes and attributes are defined by the classSchema and attributeSchema objects, respectively.

Classes

ClassSchema objects are used to define classes in the schema. A classSchema object provides the template for building directory objects of that class. Examples of classSchema include User and Server. A classSchema object contains, among other things, the following information:
Class type (structural, abstract, or auxiliary)

Common name and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) display name

Lists of the "must contain" and "may contain" attributes for instances of the object

Relative distinguished name attribute

A list of possible parent classes

Class types

Three different types of classes exist in the schema:Class type Purpose

Structural
Used to instantiate objects (users, servers and so on) in the directory.

Abstract
Provides templates for deriving structural classes

Auxiliary
Contains predefined lists of attributes that can be included in structural and abstract classes

Attributes

AttributeSchema objects are used to define attributes in the schema. An attributeSchema object determines the allowable contents and syntax for instances of that attribute in the directory. Examples of attributeSchema include User-Principal-Name and Telex-Number. An attributeSchema object contains, among other things, the following information:•
Common name and LDAP display name

Syntax rules

Data constraints (single versus multivalued, minimum, and maximum values)

Whether and how the attribute is indexed

Active directory

An application directory partition is represented by a domainDNS object with an instanceType attribute value of DS_INSTANCETYPE_IS_NC_HEAD combined with DS_INSTANCETYPE_NC_IS_WRITEABLE. This domainDNS object represents the application directory partition root (NC head), and is named similar to a regular domain partition, for example, "DC=dynamicdata,DC=fabrikam,DC=com", which corresponds to a DNS name of "dynamicdata.fabrikam.com". An application directory partition can, therefore, be instantiated anywhere a domain partition can be instantiated. There is no NetBIOS name associated with an application directory partition.

It is possible to nest application directory partitions, that is, an application directory partition can have child application directory partitions. Searches with subtree scope rooted at an application directory partition head will generate continuation references to the child application directory partitions.

An application directory partition replica can only be created on a domain controller that is running on Windows Server 2003 and later and only while the Domain-Naming FSMO role is held by a Windows Server 2003 and later domain controller. In a mixed forest that has both Windows Server 2003 domain controllers and down-level domain controllers (Windows 2000 domain controllers or Windows NT 4.0 primary domain controllers), an attempt to create an application directory partition replica on a down-level domain controller will fail.

An application directory partition also has a corresponding crossRef object in the Partitions container of the configuration partition. The crossRef can be pre-created manually before creating the domainDNS object. The pre-created crossRef object must have the attribute values shown in the following table or the partition creation will fail. If the crossRef object does not exist, the Active Directory server will create one when the application directory partition is created.

When trying to refresh a Business Objects error... DMA0007

If changes have been made to the universe it may well be that in Deski you're using a local copy of it,
I would first advise exporting the universe to the repository (cms ) and having another go in Infoview just to ensure that the same copy of the universe is being used.

If it still fails, you will need access to the Business Objects server as it could well be that the connection on the server is either missing, incorrect or using a different version of middleware.

The fastest way to check on the server, is to launch Deski directly on the server and import the report > refresh it and see if you get the error.
If so then we know that it's a connectivity issue.
