Faxing on pulse line Brother Fax-575

I live in Puerto Rico and have a pulse telephone line. How can I use the Brother Fax-575 which seems to only produce touch tones? The manual mentions being able to switch between pulse and tone if you're in Canada, but what about other areas that use pulse? The option to switch between pulse and tone doesn't appear among the commands on my fax machine.

No, the problem is that the option to select pulse or touch tone does not appear in the set up menu. Apparently, it only appears if you have the Canadian model of the machine. The US model was not programmed to work on a pulse line. I just received an email from the Brother company explaining this to me. So I have to return the fax and find one that works on pulse lines. Thanks for trying

HELLO! YOU WILL NEED TO GO INTO THE SET OF THE MACHINE, THERE IS SECTION THAT WILL ASK YOU PULSE OR TONE PUSH TONE THEN THE SET BUTTON GOOD LUCK

My first assumption would be, since this appears to be a new fax machine for you, to ensure that the telephone line is plugged into the correct port on the fax machine. There are usually two ports, a telephone port and a line port, you want the telephone line to be plugged into the "line" port.

I found the manual if you need it. it is located here: http://www.brother-usa.com/Data/Documentation/Fax/User/UM_FAX575.pdf If you cannot sort it out with the manual, I suggest that you contact Brother USA and see if they can assist you. their telephone number should be on page 1 I think Good Luck

Hi, Could I connect 2 phones to my brother 575 and still receive faxes? Excuse me, I meant 1 telephone. It would be 2 phones total if you include the 575 fax phone.

Yes, set your fax to 6 or 7 rings or manual.

Plug the phone jack cord to LINE
Plug the telephone to TEL

Get Magic Jack and connet it to your computer. You can connect to a fax machine, telephone, and call to Puerto Rico. Connect this to your Computer. You now have an option to call or fax anything.

Dialing out to fax papers. Reaches the number but instead of taking the fax it prints out a report saying: transmission verification report -- NG: Poor line condition. I have never used this fax machine...

Perhaps you indeed have lots of interferences on your telephone line, or the recipient does.
It is also possible that the unit has been set for a different telephone line standard (for some other country) - check the manual for relevant settings. If you don't have a manual, go to Brother website and download one.
