The date and time (and a lot more) are automatically stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

SOURCE: Print Picture with date

I don't believe that the XTi will let you have the date on the picture.
Easiest solution I can think of is to download some free software like Paint.net and use the text tool to add it in the corner before printing.
If you have forgotten the date or time, and you're using windows (not sure how to do this on a mac) right click on the image, go to properties, click the summary tab, and then click Advanced. That will give you something called the EXIF data, or all the info about the picture (camera model, shutter speed, etc). Near the bottom should be the date and time.

SOURCE: Date View

I called Canon and they said that date is not available with S400. However, you can get some programs that will print the date on the pictures yourself. Each picture has stored the date it was taken inside the picture file (embedded). Hope that helps.

SOURCE: How do I get the date to print on the pictures

To set datestamp to appear on your pictures:

Hit FUNC SET (middle of wheel on back)
Hit Right side of wheel to SELECT the mode you would like to have (Auto, Man, etc)
Hit Bottom of wheel to get to bottom of Left Menu on screen
Hit Right side of wheel to SELECT fifth selection (Postcard 1600x1200)

This is the only mode I have found that supports the date stamp on the Canon Powershot SD600.
P.S. Don't forget to set the correct date and time in the screen MENU under the Tools tab!

My camera shows that the date and time are set up but date does not print on picture when developed. it's a new camera and I just developed my first set of prints and there is no date on any of them. ...

On digital cameras, the data is stored with the filename. Check the back of your prints to see if the dates were not printed there. Most companies do put at least the date information on the back of the prints as well as any other metadata stored with the file produced by the digital camera. Unlike film cameras, which could only record the date by actually putting it on the picture, digital pictures contain metadata that can include things such as people tags, location tags (geotagging), etc. depending upon the capabilities of your camera. The date and time is always stored along with the filename on all digital cameras. If the company that printed your pictures did not include the date on the back of the picture, ask them if they can do it or find another source to print your pictures that can.

If this did not address your issue, please reply with any amplifying information so that I may more accurately address your issue.

I hope this helped!

How to stamp the date and time on the pictures? Fujifilm finepix J100

The camera will not deface your pictures by scrawling a set of digits across it. You can have the date appear when you print the pictures. Please refer to the documentation for whatever program you're using to print.

If you're printing from the camera using a PictBridge-compatible printer, you can set it to print the date by selecting PRINT ORDER (DPOF) from the Playback menu and then selecting "WITH DATE". It's detailed in the "Printing Pictures via USB" section of the manual (page 43 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one at

Date and time not appear on the pictures

You must have the pictures printed at a Camera Store / Kiosk to have the date imprinted. Very few cams have that feature built in anymore

Have date print on pictures. I see the date on the camera but when the pictures print no date

Many digital cameras have a special settings to allow the date to appear on the pictures.
As a general rule, if the date is printed on the playback of the picture, then it will appear on the print. There seems to me to be no reason that if the recorded picture, then it should print, unless it is too far to the right or the bottom, then it may be off the picture because of cropping.

How do I set the DATE & TIME so that it appears on all my pictures I shoot with the Nikon D70 ?

There's no way to have it display on the pictures, but the date and time (and lots of other data) is recorded with the picture. If you want it to display when you print, you can setup most softwares to do this. If you print from the camera, there is a way to have it print date/time on the pictures, but I've never found anyone who actually prints directly from a camera.
If you take it to a lab or retail store, ask them to help you get it on your printed photos. The photo kiosks can read the date from the file and print it out. Sometimes they print it on the back also.

How do you get the dates on the photos to download?

Well, you don't say what camera you are using but all the data is included with the picture as "metadata". This can be opened by many photo editing programs simply by right-clicking and choosing info.
