How do i login on as administrator on my computer?

Login With the Administrator Account in Windows XP Professional

Click the "Start" menu and then click "Log Off."

Click "Switch User" when the prompt screen opens.

Press "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete."

Click on "Administrator" when the "Log on to Windows" screen pops up. Type in the administrator password, if applicable.

Click "OK." You will now be logged in as the administrator.

Log On as An Administrator in Windows Vista

Start your computer and allow it to continue through its startup process. By default your computer will simply load directly to the primary user account (usually the administrator account), but if there are multiple users on the system it will load to the account login screen.

Use the mouse to click on the administrator account from the list of available accounts to log on. This step is only necessary if you've customized Windows Vista with more than one account or you have set the operating system to load the login screen first.

Enter the password required in the password field to log on to the administrator account.

Click the "OK" or "Log On" button once you have entered the password. This button may be labeled differently depending on the version of Windows Vista or any GUI (graphical user interface) changes you may have made.
Log on as an administrator from within the Windows Vista environment by clicking on "Start" and then "Log Off." As soon as you have logged off, you will be returned to the login screen where you can choose the administrator account from the available list.

Got an error message 1935 while downloading software for a printer. tried sfc /scannow per kodak help tech, message said must sign on as administrator in console session to do this. how?

I think your system has many user accounts to log in. In your case I think you are logged in as other user in spite of administrator so the person who logs in as administrator has kept some securities so when you are trying to download anything it will ask administrator's permission,To avoid this type of errors always log in as administrator, or just remove securities from the administrator's account.

Thanks.
have a great day.

I could not do Map Network Drive from other pc to my Dell Inspiron 1501. It looks like security setting is violated. I got message saying 'c' is available but the user account that you are logged on with...

If you are using Window's XP or later the problem is probably the account you are logged into doesn't have "administrative access". You will have to log into the administrative account to make network changes.

If you are running Vista the default administrative account is hidden. To access it do the following: First you’ll need to open a command prompt in administrator mode by right-clicking and choosing “Run as administrator” (or use the Ctrl+Shift+Enter shortcut from the search box)

Now type the following command :
net user administrator /active:yes

You should see a message that the command completed successfully. Log out, and you’ll now see the Administrator account as a choice. (Note that the screenshots are from Vista, but this works on Windows 7)

You’ll note that there’s no password for this account, so if you want to leave it enabled you should change the password.
Disable Built-in Administrator Account
Make sure you are logged on as your regular user account, and then open an administrator mode command prompt as above. Type the following command:
net user administrator /active:no

The administrator account will now be disabled, and shouldn’t show up on the login screen anymore.

Alohabob says i need to 'make sure i'm logged in as administrator

I truly have no idea what is that, or how you make it work, but usually when a program needs to be run with administrator rights, I just right click and choose run as administrator.
