Zenith A25A11D -Tv won't turn on

Zenith A25A11D TV will not turn on. I jumped the internal switch without any results. I see that there's a retifier and would like to know how to test for power. Can and Ohm meter work or do I need to check with the power on and how? Fuses are good. Wondering if voltage reg. is working. I already tried to test the retifier with Ohm meter and nothing shows? Power cord is good.

SOURCE: Zenith A25A11D No Red Color

Hi, If you are comfortable working with a soldering iron, a continuity (VOM) multi tester and a fair knowledge of electronic components, then perhaps you can repair the missing color red. You have to open the unit, expose the small printed circuit board that is attached to the small end of the picture tube. There will be many components present but you will need to focus yourself on three (3) transistors that are bigger than the others sometimes with an aluminum heatsink. It is also possible that instead of 3 transistors you will have one power IC. In any case these control and provide the drive for the 3 colors of your picture tube: red, green and blue. One of them is either dead or suffers from cold solder to any or all of its pins/legs. You have to visually inspect the solder joints of these big transistors/IC and determine if any is dull in color, loose of simply not connected. You may even try the shotgun approach and solder each of the pins/terminals/legs just as long as you don't cross solder creating a short between pins/legs. If this works, you're set, if not: You have to check with the use of the VOM and determine which of the 3 transistor is defective. If you are familiar checking continuity of base to collector to emitter and reverse, again you're set, if not perhaps you check all three and compare which have the same reading from the same position and which is different. Pls keep in mind the transistors have forward and reverse bias readings. If able to determine defective component, desolder, replace and solder. If it were an IC, replace the entire pack. If the above would make you uncomfortable, pls ask for the services of a qualified TV repair man and explain your problem. Hope this works out for you and give you some ideas. Pls post again how things turn up, good luck and kind regards.

Why wont my tv turn on

Hello
Do any indicator LED at it front panel lights up? If lights up, and the TV won't turn ON, the fault is with its internal circuit board. If not, the fault is with its power regulator board.
This is the picture to the power board to your tV.2_7_2012_4_24_00_pm.jpg

Last night our Time Warner cable went down. The internet service returned but our 2004 27 inch Zenith TV will not turn on i.e. no picture or sound. The switch seems to activate as a click is heard and...

I think that the unit is going into protective shutdown because it has detected an internal problem. I would suggest that you invest in a detailed repair estimate that will cost about $100-$150 depending upon your location. It might cost even less, especially if you take it in. You could also contact Zenith and see what they might say about this problem first before taking it in.

When I plug in my 36" Zenith TV the screen stays black, a clicking and popping noise comes from the back and I smell acrid smoke like from an electrical fire. What is going on, and is it repairable?

Caution: Never power on the TV set again until this fault is retified.
It is anode arcing takes place inside the TV. Its final anod cap is arcing with neighboring surroundings. A smoke like fume along with a foulin smell will be there. It is repairable. Its Line Output Transformer [LOT] shoud be replaced with similar type and number. Before connecting the anode cap to the final anode of the picture tube, cleen the anode hole and surrounding area with some sort of cleaning solvent [we uses pure turpentine for that purpose], throughly, and wipe it out to dry out well.

I have a sanyo DS35580 and there is a blue line across the middle of the screen

You haven't stated whether there is screen or picture. If you see only a blue line across the screen with high brightness, vertical output Ic of your TV has burned out. Don't switch on the set further or increase its brightness, till the fault is retified. Otherwise there will a phosphur burn occur where the blue line is now, and it is internal, whcih cannot be retified anymore.

Zeneth A25A11D 25' tv has broken cable connector

Sorry, I miss-read this post. I orginally thought it said your cable broke, meaning the coax that went to the back of the TV.
The coax input is more than likely a part of the main board. I am not a tv expert but as with laptops and input modules that break you have to soder the peice on or replace the whole board.
Easier to switch to a/v inputs as mentioned in Solution #1.
I could not find a spec sheet for your model but did find this for you to give you an idea on what is entailed in replacing a broken RF connection. This may or may not apply to your model, but here it is anyway.

I would suggest letting someone who is qualified in TV repair fix it.
Here are the service manuals for your Zenith. Download both and then extract to your desktop for easy access. I downloaded and extracted myself to make sure it was a working copy so you are good to go.
