- Rarely use the laptop & not much changes happens inside - Happened so sudden 2 nights ago - Often use while on the bed watching some tv series - Last Sunday connected it to a LG flat tv screen using rga? rgb? forgot what it was and worked fine - Sometimes left the charger plugged in all night - Have had warning saying 'consider replacing your battery' hence the reasons why plugged in all night - Been googling trying to find answers but could not find one that says won't switch on plugged in WITHOUT battery - tried the steps of uninstalling the something battery on the device manager thing and it won't work - steps might have failed because could not switch on while plugged in but with battery out
Take the battery out and hold the power button for like 15 seconds. then put battery baCK on and plug it in but do not try to power on. lets saee what goes? remember not to power on
hi Eric, I did as told and it would run as normal but still not charging. The thing is, if it is running on batt I would be able to switch it on, but not charging. But if running on power, could not switch on at all just as I mentioned the blinking lights part... thanks
do you know anybody with that same charger? we have narrowed it down to the 2 things i suspect.1. bad battery.2. power supply not pushing enough juice to charge
hi emasmela76, yup there's another laptop of the same kind in the house so I practically tested everything from batt to charger to both laptops. My charger works on laptop B, won't work on mine. My batt is charging on laptop B but wont charge on mine as well. So what I'm currently doing is using laptop B to charge my battery and use laptop B's batt to run mine and if it runs out switch the batts again to charge... so I've read somewhere that it could be the thing where we plug the charger in on my lappy that's not functioning but I'd like to read further on ya'll opinions/advices thanks in advance!

You have a ground fault issue in the DC JACK.
There are escentially 4 circuits in the jack and one is not making contact.
1: Negative Charge circuit (outter ring)
2: Negative Run circuit (outter ring)
3 Positive (Inner Ring)
4: Signal (center pin)
I believe the negative charge circuit (outter ring) is not making contact internally. Typically what happens on that model DC Jack is the tension contact metal becomes fatigued, and does not touch the outter ring.
This could come from Heat causing early fatigue of the metal.
Or normal wear, the metal has simply worn out from regular insert/removal.

Laptop is DEAD. How do your troubleshoot the problem?
In this post I’ll explain how to troubleshoot a dead laptop and find the problem. The following troubleshooting tips are not model and brand specific, they should work for most laptops.
Let’s take a look at two different scenarios.
Example 1. The laptop is absolutely dead.
When you plug in the power adapter and press on the power button, there is no signs of life at all. The laptop will not make usual noises, LEDs will not light up, the fan will not spin, the screen is blank and black, etc… In short, the laptop is dead.
What you can do in this case?...

You mentioned trying a different battery, try a different AC adapter.
When plugging in the ac adapter to the wall, see if the POWER LED comes on on the adapter, then when you connect it to the computer, see if the LED stays on.
If the issue occurs with both AC adapters (No battery installed) then the motherboard has failed. If one ac adapter works but the other doesn't then the adapter is bad
