It will go forward in low and high however it will not do anything when reverse buton pushed
If you use a butter knife to pop out the forward\reverse button there is 2 other prongs that the wires are no connected to. Connect the wires to the unused prongs. I had this problem and I was going to order a new switch until I tried this. It worked for me.
Either a wire came loose or if it is brand new chances are it's a defect. Hope this helps.

Same problem. I just popped the switches out with a butter knife and made sure the plug was inserted properly. Fixed the problem.
