Kenmore side by side shorts out when plugged in

We used this refrigerator full time in our old house, now we have moved and it shorts out (blows the GFI) when we plug it in in the garage. Any idea??

Try a different circuit to plug the fridge. Possible you GFI is weak and can not take the start surge of the compressor. Refrigerators need to be on 20 amp circuits and not on same circuits with lights ,televisions, etc.
Also if the refrigerator has be laid down on its side during moving give it 24 hour for the oil to return to the compressor. This also is a symptom of overload on the compressor.

Kenmore refridgerator not blowing cold air.

You need to replace the overload/relay . This is the piece plugged onto the side of the compressor , with 2 or 3 wires going to it . It is easily replaceable . Take your model number with you when you get the part kit , so you get the correct replacement . DO NOT use a 3 in 1 hard start . This item is used by inexperienced technicians , and will only last a short time . Get what is called for , for your refrig .

You moved the refer from one house to another, did you clean the refer first? was there a dusty old piece of cardboard hanging off the back? that cardboard needs to be in place for proper air flow through the condenser coil.

Warm fridge

Fifteen years old.  Unless you are a fix-it fanatic like me and have lots of time to tinker (and like soft ice cream), it is probably time to replace it.

Make sure the freezer fan motor is running. The wires may have come off when it fell.

My Kenmore side by side cuts out when plugged in, trips the GFI.

Do you know how to use a volt-ohm meter, and do you have one avaiable to you? Preferably a digital one.

Kenmore Refrig #57572791 - Keeps blowing circuit

If you have an OHM meter, check from the flat conductors of the plug to the ground section of the plug. Any reading at all indicates a short in the circuit. Most likely place of the short could be the compressor. If you are capable, with the unit unplugged disconnect the leads from the compressor, then see if the breaker trips when you plug it in. If not the problem is the compressor . At ten years old it would be more expedient to get a new refrigerator than to replace the compressor. The warranty is up and you would pay the big bill for the compressor and labor.

Kenmore side by side not cooling after a move

go to the back of the fridge see if it has a white relay on the compressor that's the piece that plugs onto the compressor if it does un plug the unit take it off and shake it if it rattles and little black stuff falls out of it replace it with a three in one relay from an appliance repair parts store just follow the instructions on the part its easy don't worry about water in the ice maker it will fill when it starts cooling if it doesn't have the relay try turning it off for 24 hours to give the oil time to run back down to the compressor and advise me further
