When i put my game into the xbox 360 console it reads the disc as an dvd "play dvd" then a white screens pops up and says "to play this disc, put it in a xbox 360 console." it plays dvds just fine but not any of my games...???
Make sure discs are not scratched. Try cleaning the discs using rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth.

this usually happens to bad/damaged/dirty game disks. try cleaning the disks. if that doesn't work, contact microsoft via xbox.com/support.

At first it would sometimes it will say "Play DVD" and a white screen would pop up. Now it's all the time. I've cleaned the discs. Now every single time I boot up my xbox 360 that's what I get. To get it to play a game I have to repeatedly eject and close the disc tray and restart the xbox. Since it never does this with regular xbox discs and DVDs I'm think that maybe the DL drive isn't reading the second layer for some reason. Like it's maybe damaged.
