Sanyo dp50747 TV turned itself on and will not turn on. The green power light located on the front panel lights up and the side panel off/on works but no sound or picture is shown. The front panel green light stays lit. The TV did this again about one month ago but I just turned it back on. Yesterday, it turned itself on and now does not turn on with the sound or picture shown. There is no sounds or odors from the TV. The power outlet works fine and the TV appears to be getting some power but it does not turn on when switched with the remove or side power button, Is this a power supply problem?

Correction: I can use the remote or side panel to control to turn the TV on. The Green light on the front panel lights up. The TV powers on and the screen powers on but there is no audio or picture. I turned the TV off and powered it on again but still there is no audio or picture and no picture or menu options work with the remote control. I removed the back panel to look at the boards. All looks fine and there are no burn spots, leaking capacitors or apparent problems. One fuse on the Power Board looks dirty, a bit brown. The fuse on the Logic Board looks much better. I am guessing that I may need to check the fuses or replace them. Then, maybe try turning the TV on again and see what happens. Any suggestions. The fuses are ceramic. Can I check the fuses with a mete?

I checked the fuse on the main board and logic board. Tested also at Radio Shack. The two fuses are good and there is no apparent damage, burned boards or chip on any of the circuit boards. I guess I will need to get it checked out or try replacing a bad board if found.

The screen panel is priming on. When you turn the lights off and switch the TV set on you can see the screen flash. But there is no sound, picture or any noise. Seems like something is stopping the TV from completely powering up with sound and a picture.

This Sanyo 50 inch Plasma TV, model DP50747-01, manufactured August 2007. There is a LG Electronic label on the inside of the TV at the very top center. I thought it might be a heat issue because several months ago, it clicked off by itself but I was able to turn it back on quickly. Maybe, heat damaged the power supply board even thought there is no apparent damage viewed inside the TV on any of the boards. How many fuses does this set contain? Is it possible to check any of the boards with a digital multimeter?

SOURCE: Have a Sanyo Plasma TV

Hello,

Yep. The power supply in Sanyo Plasmas are generally prone to failures. It could be a failure in the panel not priming, but I doubt it. Turn the lights off in the room, then try to turn it on. If you see the screen faintly flash, the panel is priming, but it is not coming on. If the screen is lit, but is still "black," then it is a control or digital board. If it is totally black with no light at all, then it doesn't entirely rule out the first two, but makes a power supply failure more likely.

They usually have a lot of heat damage to them. If you have tried unplugging it for 15 minutes, then plugging it back in and it still doesn't work, the it is most likely a secondary in the power supply.

I hope this helps you...

SOURCE: Sanyo DP50747 Replaced Power Supply still not working

this issue is related to either the y sustainer and z sustainer boards, checking the fuses on the y/b will giving you a good indication, if they are open(bad) then you'll have a easy fix, if not, i would try replacing the y board first.

SOURCE: sanyo dp50747 powers on but no picture or sound

There is an internal fuse if could be blown. If the fuse is good you might try reflowing the solder on the power board.
