EW30EW65SS Stainless Steel smells like burning electrical

EW30EW65SS Stainless Steel electric oven smells like burning electrical when the bottom oven is on convection broil mode. The smell comes from the air being blown out of the fan vents above both the upper and lower oven but doesn't come from the inside of either of the ovens? Any ideas?

Hello purrpplee - If the smell is coming out of the oven vent, more than likely it is something inside the oven that is creating the odor. Also, keep in mind that new cooking products can create a burning electrical odor when the bake and broil cycles are used as any residual coating or film on the oven liner and elements burns off. However, if odor increases consult a professional for an accurate diagnosis.

SOURCE: Electrolux EOB5600 electrical fault?

goto home depot, lowes and get some ceramic wire nuts and heat tape and electrical tape.cut the wires back on both sides of the terminal block.bypass the t-block and connect the wires with the wire nuts wrap the heat tape then electrical tape on each one.if you have access to a amp meter take readings to make sure the amp draw isnt too high.i would think the wires just burned up from either a loose connection or the heat of the oven.this should solve your problem.

How do I set clock?

Hello Duane, thank you for your post!
Based off the information you have provided you need help setting the clock on your Electrolux wall oven. I have researched that information and located a manual for you. You would need to press the "USER PREF" button until you receive a "CLO 12:00". Then use the number keys to set the time of day, you can also use the "hi" or "lo" buttons to set time as well. Then press "START" to accept the time of day you have set it to. If you would like to review the manual it is located on page 28. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Wall oven not heating

Hey friend, thank you for your post!

I understand that your Electrolux wall oven is not heating. I would like to ask some additional questions so that I can better assist you. First, is your appliance displaying an error code of any sort? Secondly, is display on? A step you could try would be to reset your appliance, which is done by either unplugging your appliance or flipping the household circuit breaker for ten minutes. I look forward to your response to better assist you. -Matt

Electrolux oven wont work after cleaning

Hi ja1078063,

I understand you having trouble getting your oven to work after using the self-cleaning mode. Does any part of the oven work? Confirm a fuse is not blown or a circuit breaker tripped. Test the power outlet with a lamp, hair dryer, etc.
Does "Loc" appear in the display if any button is pushed?
The Oven Lockout feature automatically locks the oven door, prevents most oven controls from being turned ON. Press and hold CLEAR/OFF for 3 seconds. A beep will sound. LOC will clear. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven door has completely unlocked.

Best Regards,

Electrical fault on SE250Xuk

It may be something as simple as a crossed or frayed wire. This does not necessarily mean major repairs. Since it is electric, UNPLUG the oven from the wall. Then, take the burner rings out and lift the stove top. You should be able to lift it from the front edge, since it is hinged at the back.
Check the wires under the burner. If these wires are in good shape and the connections are solid, move the stove out from the wall. Remove the back sheet metal panel completely.
Once again, check the wires running the entire length. Make sure all wires running from the knob console to the rest of the oven are not frayed or missing the insulation coating and that the connections are complete and not loose.
If you find frays, some electrical tape should fix it just fine. Loose connections can usually be crimped with a pliers, or if it's a loose electrical connector type connection with a screw, you can remove the connector head and wrap bare wire around the screw, then tighten it down to secure.

If you find nothing wrong when you open it and inspect the wires, then it is possible it needs major repairs. If you are getting a burning smell from ANY electrical appliance, please leave it unplugged until you get it fixed. Nobody likes a house fire in the middle of the night.

Smoking Fan Assisted Oven

Is the smell a food smell or other smell. If it is food, then some food has gotten behind the blower motor. Clean behind it good. Even some small particles have gotten in there somehow. You can also feel thye sufaces of the oven and tell if there is some buildup.

Ge double oven

I believe this is because it takes a while for your oven to cool down (the cleaning cycle uses a very high temperature to burn up the grease and food). The timer is how long it takes before it will be cool, at which time the oven will unlock.
