We tried turning it off with the remote but it didn't work and we tried turning it off manually. We tried switching the batteries out with new batteries and that didn't work either. It just stays on. When we unplug the power cord we get a gray fuzzy screen. How do we turn the tv off?

Worn-out capacitors in the power circuit might cause this kind of problem.

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A POWER SUPPLY PROBLEM OR RELAY PROBLEM. BEING A 20 INCH SET IT IS NOT WORTH REPIRING. PARTS AND LABOR WILL BE OVER $100.
