I am trying to replace the bobbin winder on my 660 Janome jem gold but can't open the front cover. Can you help me?

We've taken the three screws off the bottom, removed the cover of the bottom front and found a screw that was holding part of the cover in the lower portion but it still won't budge.

Hello,
There is a screw that is pretty hard to get to. I suggest using a Philips screwdriver that is magnetized. When you remove the large wheel on the right side of the cover, look inside and where you removed the wheel from. There is one last screw there which has to be removed.
Best wishes!
Sincerely,
MPKramer

Janome 660 sewing machine has broken bobbin winder spindle. I can order a new spindle, but cannot get the cover off of the machine. all screws are out.

You can purchase a stand-alone bobbin winder from the local fabric store (JoAnns or Hancocks) or Amazon.com for ~$25.
