Normally when you have low water pressure and/or cleaning issues, this an indication of a clog in your main wash pump. You will need to remove the lower spray arm and the coarse screen to get to the main wash pump sump. Inspect the impeller area of the pump. This area is usually where accumulations of debris collect and keep the pump from pulling enough water. Things like orange seeds, lemon seeds, bottle cap liners, chicken bones, and jar labels are just a few of the items I have personally found. Although, dishwashers do a good job at removing most food particles, they are not garbage disposals. I bet you will find a clog in the sump somewhere. Let me know if this helps.

If you're going to rate my advice as "Not Helpful" it would be nice to know more than your initial symptoms so that I can try to give you better advice. What have you done to fix the problem? Have you checked anything yet? The advice I gave is the most most common cause for the symptoms you described. It's often hard to determine an "exact cure" for your problems without some feedback. Let me know if I can still help.

Jeff, i did exactly as you've described and I even watched a video on youtube however after all that unscrewing, cleaning and rescrewing the lower arm still doesn't want to move around. I suspect that the parts have 'fatigued' to the point of needing to be repaired. I'm going to price out the inner wash assembly pieces, get them and see if that does the trick. thx for your notes above though!

I've been having similar issues, and finally realized how to get the arm off (at least for my Maytag Jetclean EQ Plus). It doesn't look like you can turn it, but the "disk" in the center of the lower arm can actually be spun/unscrewed. Take that off and magically everything comes off!

Top rack not getting water to spinner

You likely have one of two problems.

1. The water jet passage that supplies water to the spinning portion is blocked or restricted with a piece of debris or food. I have had good luck cleaning the passages of these sprayers with tooth picks or long pipe cleaners from an art supply store.

2. The main pump that circulates the water for the dishwasher is degraded or not working effectively. This is a much more expensive fix but is repairable.

I would check to make sure that you can spin the top "spinner" by hand and that all openings are clear of any blockages.

The top section wont wash clean

You may have debris in the sprayer arm jets. It is usually simple to remove the sprayer arms. Then rinse them well using the sink sprayer for forceful water power. I have sometimes had to use a tweezer to remove bits of plastic, paper, bone, or food particles. Once you've remove the debris, rinse well forcing water through to dislodge any other debris. Once you've reattached the sprayer arms, you should have cleaner dishes. Also, some brands of dishwashers have a pipe that runs up the inside back wall and connects to a pipe that runs under the top shelf. Water flowing through this pipe under the top shelf propels the sprayer arms. If the connection at the back is not flush with the "propel" pipe there won't be enough water pressure to turn the sprayer arm. Check to see if your dishwasher has this type of set up.
I hope this works. If it does, please let Fixya know by rating my solution.
Good luck!

Top shelf not cleaning

Hi, the most likely cause of this is the sump is plugged under the screen area, I have put some instructions together to show how to clean out down there. let me know if it helps.

Bottom sray spinner doesn't spin. Computer and

Make sure that the spray bar when lifted by the water pressure is NOT hitting the dish rack OR has excessive friction. Test by manually lifting and turning.

Also the jets must exit at an angle to provide the torque.

Dishwasher not cleaning dishes

I had the same problem and fixed it by disassembling the lower spray arm and return filter, and cleaning all the junk out.
Most dishwashers have 'risers' that bring the water up to the top sprayer or arm located under the top rack. If the recirculating pump is plugged even a little there won't be enough volume or pressure to get the water up there.
Test this by putting a dry muffin pan in the top rack, flat, and running the dishwasher for a bit. If there is no water on the top (or the bottom) either the top sprayer or the sprayer arm underneath the top rack is not getting enough volume.
To fix this you need to clean out the screen and filter, where the water returns to be recirculated. If you don't have any confidence to remove the parts and clean it out yourself, get an appliance repair person to do the job.

Top sprayer wont spin . dishwasher goes through cycles and only partially cleans. bottom sprayer does spin.

The sprayers are not powered but rely on the water pressure to spin them. If it's not spinning it could be
the spinner isn't engaging in the top rack as you slide it in
blocked jets on the spray arm
blocked feedpipe to the spray arm
faulty pump

Most dishwashers are fairly easy to dismantle to check the first few

Dishes not clean

There may be a couple of solutions to your problem. First, if you are not rinsing the dishes thoroughly before loading, your sump area in the bottom of the machine will get clogged, thus preventing enough velocity to reach top rack. Second, and most likely, your water inlet valve (or solenoid valve) is restricting. You have a timed fill mode through the timer and if the valve is not opening fully, you do not get the proper rate of flow into the machine. Replace the valve and your problem will most likely be solved.

Check to see in you have enough water in tank. The dishwasher fills then recirculates this water under pressure. If you have water in tank, listen to see if motor is running or not. If it is, you may have clogged jet holes in the wash arms.
