H700 Echo Problem.

Hi! Apparantly talking is fine into the headset. I've been told by my dad that he hears an echo when he talks into his phone. It's not his phone, as it doesn't echo when I don't use the headset. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

When using my H700, person on other end frequently hears echo so bad it is impossible to carry on a conversation. I will try the suggestion to keep volume lower and see what happens. I called Moto support and all they could suggest is buy a different model,as mine is out of warranty. To which I replied--yeah,right!

Each party needs to keep their earpiece (listening) volume at the minimum level that is audible to reduce chance of feedback. Also, look to see if there is an encryption on/off option on the phone...this could be causing an echo in either state due to interference...try switching encryption on/off. Also, check your update options on the phone, you didn't say which kind of phone it is but some can get firmware updates that may be needed for bluetooth to work well. Finally, you may get results by deleting the device on the phone and re-adding it thru discovery.

Cs540 caller hears echo

Hello, if they are hearing echo, you are speaking too loud. Or have the receiver too close and talking too loud. Or the person on the other end of the line has phone line problems.

There is an Echo @ the other end when I am talikng with them. It sounds fine @ my end but always a problem At the recieving end????

I just figured this out for mine - unfortunately it's a little bit of a bummer -

Experiment with your volume levels. Get a guinea pig/friend to listen for the echo while they talk - start with your listening volume all the way down while they talk, and gradually turn the volume up, until they hear an echo. Knock it back down one more notch and you should be good.

When its on, i can hear what other people are saying, but they cant hear me talk

Well, this happened to me before, it wouldn't let me talk to them and I could only hear them. The problem is the cord, you have to go out and buy a new one I'm afraid. If it is new though, then it is defective.

Screeching

These trouble shooting suggestions where taken from here. There are more things they suggest trying but this cutout pertains to your problem more so than other suggestions. If these do not work I would recommend reading through that guide.

Noise or Feedback:
  • A screeching noise when you talk you are experiencing feedback. Turning your TV down should help.
  • Loweringthe headset volume can also help. Go to Accessory Settings/ AudioDevice Settings (where you test your headset) and you can set the micvolume there. Level 3 is a good start. If people have trouble hearingyou then you should raise to Level 4 or Level 5.
  • Ifyou hear an echo when you talk try turning the earpiece volume down onthe headset. Many BT headsets have their own volume control.
Also, while the PS3 is compatible with almost any Blue tooth 2.0 headset, I have heard of of problems like this occurring where the headset had to be replaced by a different model to solve the problem. As far as I know this is the only headset guaranteed to work by Sony.

H700 not working properly

I had the same problem with my Razor and the H700. I removed the device from the phone and reinstalled and that fixed the pairing probelm...Now I have another problem. I can hear the party I'm talking to just fine but no onee can hear me...this is my second Motorola ear piece and I've had the same problem twice...I think its a microphone problem...anyway, try to unistall and then reinstall the ear piece, that should fix your problem

Echo in hs850 headset

You did not say what phone you are using but I found that this problem went away for me when I changed a setting on my blackberry. I turned "encryption" off in the bluetooth settings on my blackberry 7100t and solved the echo problem. Alternatively, there might be a "compression" setting also. This one made no difference for me but might for you on your device. Also, make sure any firmware or software updates for your phone have been applied. On blackberry devices you do this via a PC. On cell phones it usually involves a reset or update from some buried menu options or call to their tech support. good luck.
