Stove-top works, oven showing all 888888 across the screen
The Kenmore drop-in range model no. 45461-45468-45565-45569 is not showing the F error codes, it is only showing all 888888 across the screen. It will not allow any settings to work....clock, bake, timer, etc. therefore it does not work. The stove-top works perfectly. The manual only shows F error code fixes. I believe the stove works and just needs some sort of code to reset it. I believe it to be related to a power surge however it is receiving power, just stuck on the 8888888 screen. Any advice is appreciated. thanks
I have the same issue with the 888888 on the display screen. The oven will not work. I have the same issue with the 888888 on the display screen. The oven will not work.

If your Kenmore electric range model 790.9232 oven is not working and the control panel is blank, there are a few potential causes for this issue:
Faulty control board: The control board manages the oven's functions and if it is faulty, the oven may not work and the control panel may be blank.
Power supply issue: There may be a problem with the power supply to the oven such as a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
Wiring issue: A wiring problem such as a broken wire or loose connection may be preventing power from reaching the oven.
Thermal fuse: The thermal fuse is a safety device that cuts off power to the oven if it overheats. If the thermal fuse has tripped, the oven will not work and the control panel will be blank.
It's best to have a professional technician diagnose the issue. They will be able to identify the specific cause of the problem and make the necessary repairs. It's also important to check the owner's manual for troubleshooting options or error codes that might be displayed on the control panel.
It is also important to check if the range is properly plugged in, or if the outlet is working properly. https://www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/How-To-Fix-A-Range-Stove-Oven/18-6--/Kenmore-Oven-Won-T-Turn-On
Hello,Please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have
to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on
the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacement of the
electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC.
However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.
KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes – 362 Series (General Electric) F1 = Stuck Touch Pad Key - Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).
KENMORE - 911 Series (General Electric/Roper) F0-F1-FF = Failed transistor in Electronic Range Control (ERC).
KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes- 665 Series (Whirlpool) F1-E0 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC). F1-E1 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC). F1-E2 U/L ERC Errors - Electronic Range Control (ERC). F1-E3 Fuel Type Fail
Kill power 30 seconds-Cancel-Start/Enter-5 seconds-Should see “E” for electric- “9” for gas-If code changes again-replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).
KENMORE - 790 Series Electronic Oven Control (Frigidaire) F1 = Shorted Touch Pad = Electronic Range Control (EOC) Internal check sum error. Runaway Temp = Replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).
Kill power 30 seconds - if error returns - replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).
Hi. your assessment is correct. when you have normal operations with the stove top and the control panel is blank or non operational, this will confirm either a wiring harness issue or a dead control circuit board. The wiring harness can sometimes become lose or the connectors can become corroded but, in this issue, i am sure its the ECB(electroninc control board). In this case, you will have to replace the board it self.
