I can't use my built-in mic of my acer aspire one notebook.

I already did the solution (To test the microphone, click "start" button, then "Control Panel", then "Sounds and Audio Devices". On the popup window that opens, click on the "Voice" tab, then click on the button that says "Test Hardware". After several seconds this will bring up a test program that will show a noise level meter when you're speaking into the microphone. "The default device listed under voice recording should be "Realtek HD Audio Input") to my acer aspire one notebook. But still, it's not working.

I can not used my built-in microphone, it's not functioning.

But i can use my headphone when i plugged into the adio jack of my acer aspire one notebook.

My problem is, i can not use it in outdoor or its portability. I have to bring my head set/ headphone. Too many things to bring in my case. Its not portable. I am uncomfortable with my Acer Aspire One notebook every time i bring out in outdoor area. Like Malls & Restaurant, etc.

Pls help me to fix it.

I have a built in webcam, but no built in mic. Is it possible for Acer Aspire series 551-5358?

According to the following site yours does have a built in mic. Try checking the volume of the mic in control panel.

Should i have a built in microphone in my acer aspire 5332 laptop

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
NO, sad but true Aspire 5332 doesn't have a in-built Mic, you need to buy a separate one and plug it in the Mic jack.
I hope you understand, If you are having any more questions, feel free to ask.

Acer aspire 5920 running vista has built in mic not working

Hey,

It is all because the Microphone is not set as a default device to start recording.

Its like your computer has no device for recording even if the computer has connected with Mic.

Just change the settings and enjoy..!!!

Check the below link:

Acer aspire 5735 mic problem

Go to control panel and sound devices and unmute the mic under record options. To avoid feed back use headphones or mute the mic in the play back option. Audacity is a good open source application to use to record on your PC.

Acer aspire one mic not working

Yep! I have seen a few of these. Make sure your model actually has a mic. There are several sub models that do not come standard, even though there is a hole in the LCD bezel for it. If it does come with one, then most likely it is one of the bad ones. I have seen quite a few in the last few months. I have only seen them come with the LCD back cover and not seperatly when delivered from Acer.

Acer aspire 4720z Built-in microphone only records loud static

You did great troubleshooting for your laptop. If the sound is fine and good for the headset, your sound card is probably not the problem. The driver aspect, should not be the problem either if it works with your headset. So herein lies the dilemma...the problem is most likely due to some physical componenent between the built-in mike and the computer case itself. You should take it to a laptop repair shop and see what they can do. It has nothing to do with the software or the sound card. It is the physical component of the built-in mike and speakers. Get that checked out and you should be good to go!

Can you not just disable the built-in speakers in control panel while you're chatting on the mic?
