New world gas cooker (apex hl 500)

The igniter will glow orange while the oven is on. This is NORMAL. If it went out the burner would not come back on when the thermostat calls for heat .

The battery is in a case (plastic holder) left hand side right near the floor in the plinth, opening the oven door will make it easier to see. (Assuming I have the correct model)

You don't need a battery you need to clean or probably replace the sparker. You can get them at Lowes or Home Depot or similar stores, or on the web. They are pretty cheap. The ignitor is not working right and is going bad....
have the repair man replace the ignitor, or DIY....

Do not light anything if you are smelling gas. Make up a soapy solution in a spray bottle and apply to all connections and look for bubbles. Most common place to leak is hook-up at cylinder and hook-up at cooker. If you can't find the leak and continue to smell gas, do not use it. Also make sure your cylinder is not empty.

where is the location for the battery on the cooker

Time to change the thermostat. the cap tube sounds like it has been broken. If it has a temp control board, change the temp probe. The clicking sound, if unit is equiped with an ignition control modual, is bad, (not shutting off after sensing pilot) or sensor rod is dirty.

The closk and ignition is no longer working, how do I solve this?
