Then select your current operating system and select your sound drivers. If that does not work, it might be the speakers and mic connector aren't connected properly onto your board, your speakers and mic are faulty or your on-board sound is completely faulty. In that case take it to your nearest Laptop Repair Shop. If its under warranty, take it back to the shop you bought it.
First we need to check if we rightfully plug the speaker in it,s rightful socket at the back of your computer. There are three sockets one is for the mic the other one is for the speaker and lastly the input socket. the green socket is it's rightful place. So now we can proceed, make sure that you have a proper sound driver for your computer. If it is still not installed, we really cannot hear anything from the speaker that we just plug in. Try to re-install your motherboard drivers, especially the sound driver for *********** board. If you don't have an installation disk, then try to buy or acquire a driver magician installation disk it is available at any software stores. After you installed driver magician, it will automatically detect any missing drivers that your motherboard needs. Try downloading each one by pressing download and driver magician will automatically search the web and download it for you. All you got to do is install them. I respectfully hope that this would solve your problems. Have a nice day friend.
You have to firstly test your head phones on another computer.... If it works in another computer than firstly update your anti virus program and then re install your drivers.... If it does not solve the problem you can re plug the cable of sound card on mother board... If problem does not solved than your sound card might have problem.
It should be having integrated sound(Realtek) audio which may require updating to the latest one released by Intel for the D101 series. Visit their website(Intel) to get the latest drivers and if the mike is in working condition then check whether it is enabled in the audio properties tab...........sodeep

I sent this TX-SR605 system to an authorized dealer for repair. It seems like it is a very simply problem - the internal set-up mic jacket closed circuit, so the system think the set-up mic is always plugged in (even when physically unplugged it, the system still detect plugged in). And it enters the automatic speaker setup and never quit.
Now I have the receiver back home and tested it. Everything worked O.K. now. It is a pity that this new-bought equipment (just one month) need repair for just a small action of plug in a mic ( I swear I plugged it in very tenderly). It is shame for such a unreliable performance happened on brand name like ONKYO. How can you be confident for an equipment failure in one month.
Check in contraol Panel under sounds and audio devices that you are using the Edirol and not an on board sound. It sounds like although the cards installed its not selected as the audio device to record from.
You will also have to tel Adobce audition to select the Edirol as you audio card of choice as it to can be changed to select input from other sound devices.
