I have the exact same problem. All my flash cards worked fine, and all of the sudden, none work. Not even the one that came with it. I am still trying to fine the reason. I bought it eight years ago, that might be it.

Hi I have a boss 1600br that will not power up. screen just blinks.I've .The br 600 model has trouble with a po wer diode causing it not to switch on. Could this also be the same with a br 1600?

Make sure you're using the correct power adapter or that the one you have is not malfunctioning. I've experienced Roland/Boss equipment blinking (and restarting over and over) when they are not receiving enough power. Sometimes even the resistance caused by too long of an extension cord can cause this to happen.

SD Card reader not working?

Make sure that the SD slot is not dirty, check inside with a light and you may want to blow it out.

Hi. My boss br 1600 will n ot start. I turn on the power source and it will blink for a split second and then nothing. I checked for loose connections but everything seems ok. Any suggestions?

I have this problem with mine. I've did some research and with the boss br 600 this problem can arise quite often .it's caused by a faulty power diode apparently except in that case I've never heard ofrom the screen blinking at all (which my 1600 also does) I wonder I'd this problem can be the same for a br 600 as the br 600

My Boss BR-1180 was working fine but said NO CD DRIVE so I replaced the cd drive and as soon as I did I turned it on it reads BOSS BR11-80 and the HD ACCESS light stays lit but nothing else happens. Did I...

hdd should not be damaged, if your hd and cd are on same ide cable it might be taking the cd as master and not the hd, ensure the jumper on the back of the new cd drive is set in the same position as the old one was, as test remove cd and boot system, hd should act again as usual. this will show that there is a ide conflict.

my assumption is that your cd jumper should be set to slave or cable select position.
you may have to try each until you find the position that works.

I hope this was useful.

regards Martin.

The memory card says unformatted card

Refer to your BR manual for procedure to format the card. Formatting the card in a PC just doesn't cut it.

Look in your index in the manual for "formatting" or "card"...etc.
