My samsung SP47W3HFX just goes off and comes on again alone

Hi can anyone help me. I put on my samsung and start watching televison normally when suddenly the tv goes off on standby and then just comes on again instantly. Sometimes it does it every minute and on other occassions it would do it every 10 minutes or even once every 30 minutes. Any ideas what the problem would be?

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; [Exclude the model number], in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

SOURCE: samsung hln617wx/xxa: color starts to blink or flicker after about ten minutes

8/25/07 Coincidentally, I have just run into the same problem. I spoke with Technical Service at Samsung yesterday and after 15 minutes on the phone they couldn't tell me what was causing it. I then did numerous web searches and came across a sight where technical experts discuss problems. Turns out it may be a problem with the Digital board, the A/V Board or the DMD board. Cost for repair (depending on which board it is) will run $400 - $1,000 or more. Repair man is coming out Monday to diagnose the set.

SOURCE: Samsung Rear Projection 47" TV goes into stand by on start up

I am sorry to disappoint you but a TV problem can only be fixed by electronic technician. If you want to do it yourself, you would have to learn electronics. Start by learning basic electronic, and then read a book on how to fix televisions. Without knowledge in electronics, you won't be able to understand a book on fixing a TV. I have been fixing TV since 1998, and I started after dropping out of electronic engineering class. I learned most about electronics on my own, and you can too.

SOURCE: TV Turns Off Automatically While Watching

Stop trying to turn on the set. You are causing more damage. The hissing sound you are hearing is either a High Voltage Transformer on the SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supply) indicating a short somewhere in the set or some capicitors that have shorted out. Also there can be a CRT that is leaking cooling fluid onto the Main bd or the Power/Deflection bd or both bds. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot the set.

I had the same problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tK7zFBBU6p4&feature=related We're not alone - its a common problem with Samsung. I watched a few of these and was able to see the bad capacitors, de-soldered and replaced them for under $5.00.
