I have an alpine mrd-m1001 getting curr message ho do you reset the amp

Hello deeprajm,

Shorted or low impedance outputs can cause the "CUR" display. Power down everything and remove the speaker wires. If it will then power up without the display, the problem is probably a short in the speaker wire or voice coil, or the impedance load is too low. If there are multiple subs, reconnect them one at a time to isolate the bad one and then correct the problem. If the amp works properly with either of the subs but not both, rewire the subs for a higher final impedance.

If the amp still displays "CUR" with the speakers disconnected, there's most likely an internal fault that requires component level repair.

Hope this helps.

My alpine amp displays CURR and nothing coms out! This happened after i was screwing the speaker wire in and I touched the amps chasis and it made a spark. I opened it up I did not see anything wrong with...

According to an Alpine owner's manual, for that type of amp, you should be able to remove power from the amp, then reconnect power to reset the error. If it doesn't reset, either there is another short in the wiring or the amp has permanent damage and needs repair.

Panasonic DVD player stuck in safe mode

Just got off with the Panasonic people. You have to turn it on, then hold down the VCR play button and channel up button at the same time until the unit turns off. This will reset the whole player. Then turn it back on & it should open!

Negative speaker output touched chasis of amp.

check all fuses on the unit, pull them all.
look for a way of resetting the amp.

LEAVE THE MAIN FUSE OUT TILL THE INSTALL IS COMPLETE!!!

that way you wont short a screw driver across the terminals on to the chasis.

Lights on, nobody home

Appears to be an issue with current. Is the speaker the correct impedance for the amplifier ? Have you confirmed there are no short circuits in the wiring ? I'm not familiar with this particular product,

The alpine catalogue gives recommended amp/speaker combos. If you don't have an aplpine sub, then look at the specs and find a similar one. You may be trying to load the amp too heavily and it will protect itself.
