We have DMC-10RS intercom system in our house. All them squeal when the power source is on. I had to unplug the hub to make them quiet. I cked the power supply and its putting out 12.2V,ok. Any ideas what...

Check power supply for proper voltage of 12 volts DC.
-If there are multiple Hubs, check voltage on all Hubs
If the voltage is not 12V, try replacing the power supply
226888 Power Supply
-If the voltage is ok, disconnect 1 room station at a time. If there a multiple Hubs, disconnect the last Hub. As each room station and/or door station is removed, have someone else listen to see if the squeal goes away. There is a chance that one bad room or door station is causing the issue.
oIf the squealing stops, add in the previous stations that had been disconnected. If all stations other than that room station are ok, do not hook up that station. There are no replacement stations available for this system. If the squealing continues with any of the stations hooked up, there is a bad HUB. DMC-10 Hubs are NLA and cannot be repaired. The best option for a replacement is the I2000 Kit

Merging 2 siemens gigaset 4215 systems (one base with 2 phones + 2 phones)

If you're trying to get 5 handsets to work with one base, it won't work. The 4215 can only handle 4 handsets, the base handset plus 3.

When I had to replace the base of my 4 handset system, the base handset still worked. Therefore I had an extra handset which couldn't be used. So I decided to buy another base. Now I have 6 handsets which can be grouped 4,2 or 3,3.

Adding an extension

If you program that button to ba a DSS button for that station (41) it will intercom that station, can be used to transfer calls to that station, and will light up when it's busy. It could be called something else in programming like Station Intercom Button, Quick Transfer Key, etc..

Problem is, your phone can be used on many different Avaya phone systems that all program differently.

The manuals for the phones and systems are all available free at www.avaya.com but you need to know which system you have before looking for the manual.

Phillips phone cd445

On the hand set:
- menu button - ADVANCED SET - REGISTRATION - base 1
- pin # is 0000 (default)

On the base station and the base station handset - press and hold for at least (3) seconds, at the same time:
- on base - the intercom button
- on base handset - menu button

It's in the manual but you need a magnifying glass to read it.

Intercom

Each of the six phones must have line 1 connected to the same "subscriber loop" (the same phone number). Assuming this is the case, and that you have not assigned any numbers to the the top six speed-dial buttons, each station will have agreed to be assigned a station number.

From any station, pressing the speed-dial button for another station's station number will page that station.

Now, how to properly initiate an intercom conversation differs between announcing to another station that a call is on hold, or a "cold call".
